How About India Offering to Share Her Counter Insurgency Success with Sri Lanka?

Nissanka

Of all the damn cheeky crap that one has to put of with these days! Compatriots, please regard the following banner headline from the Hindu today:

"India offers to share experience on federal polity with Lanka"

India's Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran is in Colombo to advise SL leaders (if such exist) on how to solve the country's "ethnic issue" and apparently, India is more than eager to offer her "experience with federal polity" with Sri Lanka.

Sadly, the Indians appear to have missed the boat again!

The Indians, who gave birth and nurtured Tamil Terrorism (of course it was called "Tamil militancy" then, during the honeymoon period before the Indian trained and armed LTTE bumped-off Rajiv Ghandi - on Indian soil at that!) are today extolling the virtues of "Indian style federalism" to us Sri Lankans - conveniently forgetting that the murderous LTTE has indicated, by word and deed, that it will settle for nothing less than a totally sovereign separate state for the LTTE (important: a separate state for the LTTE and not for the Tamils in Sri Lanka).

Recently the Doktor Balasingham's gave an interview to an Indian journalist virtually admitting LTTE's killing of Rajiv Ghandi and he took some pains to shed a few crocodile tears of regret, hoping to cozy up to India (i.e. to drive a wedge between the Sri Lankan state and India). Sadly for this aging, fake-doctor of buffoon, Indians did not delay in slapping the LTTE with sheer humiliation by rejecting this cheap road show. Subsequently, as expected, the LTTE took great offense to this humiliation and has now started spewing venom on India by laundering the dirty linen in public, over the world media, the Internet. LTTE did not delay in giving interviews to various journalists on how the Indians trained and armed the LTTE to carry out a subversive terrorist campaign against the sovereign nation of Sri Lanka - a fellow member of the Commonwealth and SAARC.

What is humorous about this is that the Indians' training of Tamil terrorists was a public secret and we do not need the LTTE's expose now to confirm it. In the '80s, even ordinary New Delhi air port taxi drivers knew the locations where the Sri Lankan Tamil youth were being trained by the Indian security forces and the RAW (India's equivalent of the U.S. CIA).

Given these ugly developments, undoubtedly very embarrassing to the Indians, what we need from India today is some admittance of her past mistake - of trusting the LTTE- and advice and material help to liquidate the LTTE. After all, the Indians liquidated the Khalistan separatist "terrorist" movement in one fell swoop and perhaps India can share with us some pointers-to-success on how she did it - despite world pressure to be "moderate and accommodating of a minority's grievances!" As for power sharing with the Tamils (not the LTTE terrorists), we have fruitful discussions and devolution models to explore underway with the Tamil moderates (who do not believe in violence to address any "Tamil grievances"). Mr. Douglas Devananda, Mr. Ananda Sangaree, and even former LTTE's "Col. Karuna" is willing to talk with the GOSL to arrive at an amicable solution to this so called national issue, but the murderous LTTE, which has nothing to do with the "national issue" but only representing a horrific terrorist plague, is adamant to stick to its claymores and the guns. Obviously, its leader, the megalomaniac Prabhakaran, fears a true political solution that will see him usurped from his "Sun God" supreme throne whereby today he alone decides who lives and dies in the Vanni of Sri Lanka.

What the LTTE wants and what the ordinary Sri Lankan Tamils want are two different things - this is a simple fact that the Indians must come to grips with at least even now!

We do not need another round of Indian meddling in our affairs that will see the LTTE Tamil terrorism continuing for another two decades!
