Sri Lankan government troops kill 152 Tamil Terrorists

Over 152 terrorists were killed and more than 124 injured when the LTTE terrorists miserably failed in their frenetic attempt to break the Naval defence in the Muttur Jetty area today afternoon (Friday the 04th of August).

The well determined SL Naval elite sea units took the LTTE terrorists by surprise when they whacked a LTTE attempt to infiltrate the Naval Defences, and siege the Eastern Town of Muttur, at 12:30 p.m. The offensive was to be supported through some heavy artillery fire and intended to cutoff the sea movement of naval forces from the terrorists who arrived from the Sampoor area.

Fighting formations of the LTTE terrorists were swept through fierce artillery fire from the SL security forces in the Muttur Jetty area.

Attack formations of LTTE cadres were taken by surprise by well equipped SL naval units during the onslaught.

Initial reports from Muttur civil sources further said that more then 40 terrorist bodies to be seen scattered in the area.

Over 120 LTTE terrorists were injured during the surprise attack. Meantime, information reveals that the terrorists unable to flee from the military onslaught in vengeance are attacking civilians brutally.

The SL security forces swept the ill determined terrorists in a well fledged battle to save both the civilians and the property in the Eastern Town of Muttur.

Meantime, sources in Trincomalee, said that the terrorist pledges for Medical assistance could be heard over the communication links and added that the expected LTTE casualties to toll in hundreds.

LTTE terrorists on Tuesday attacked the Muttur Jetty, wounding 02 Police constables.

Meanwhile, three to four boats with LTTE terrorists onboard arrived from Sampoor area in order to cutoff the sea route to Muttur, which was completely, foiled by the Naval elite Fast Attack Crafts in the same afternoon. The LTTE crafts fled to Sampoor beach with heavy damages due to Naval retaliation.

Sri Lanka Army artillery fire and aerial bombardment by SL Air force were being continued in identified terrorist strong holds in Sampoor.

Reliable sources revealed that heavy clashes have been erupted between the LTTE (Prabakaran) cadres and (Karuna) cadres in the LTTE dominated Pannichchankerni area, since this morning.

Pannichchankerni, is situated deep in the un-cleared area between Vakarai and Batticaloa, At least 10 LTTE terrorists (Prabakaran) had been killed and many injured by the Karuna faction terrorists. The sources further revealed a roadblock manned by the LTTE cadres at Pannichchankerni to be overrun by the Karuna faction.

According to Naval sources, 12 Sailors were injured in today's battle and were immediately rushed to the Naval Hospital Trincomalee via sea.

Arrangements are being made to hand over nine (09), LTTE terrorist bodies which were left behind by the fleeing "freedom fighters", in the incident through the ICRC.

Troops recovered a heavy caliber machine gun(.50mm); a large amount of weapons and number of communication equipments left by the Tiger terrorists.
