JVP PROTESTS IN FRONT OF US EMBASSY

I want to compliment Nissanka on his very accurate article objecting to JVP protests in front of trhe US embassy. I also wouls like to add a few words of mine for intellectual debate sake.

Our beloved island of Sri Lanka continue to be plagued by poverty while most of our neighbors in the far east and now India have made huge economic strides in the last few decades.

How is it that a country that had a prosperity and social indicators second only to a few other Asian countries in 1948 - the year of our independance- wenta into such a steep economic and social decline? While there are several key factors least of which is the wreched, selfish leaders we had, JVP who today want to protray as saviours of our nation did their quota of damage as well. I will lay down the facts.
