LTTE refuses, takeover of terrorist bodies - MutturLTTE refused to accept the bodies of the terrorists killed during the counter insurgency by the SL security forces during the limited operation fledged to save the Eastern town of Muttur. The LTTE incursion was totally foiled and revolted by the security forces causing a fearful and violent defeat, to the terrorist organization which is reported to be a major defeat in the two decade long crisis. The SL security forces considered the counter offensive as a measure taken to ensure the safety of the Tamil, Muslim and Sinhalese civilians against the LTTE savageness. Arrangements were being made to hand over thirty (30), LTTE terrorist bodies, which were left behind the by "fleeing freedom fighters", through the ICRC. LTTE refused to accept the bodies of their dead, which were already in bad conditions. Most of the terrorist bodies were buried by the security forces to prevent any spread of disease considering hygienic conditions. Previously LTTE denied accepting 09 terrorists' bodies, when the security forces made arrangements to hand over them through the ICRC on Friday the 05th of August. Military analysts said the "Four Days counter insurgency" has brought tragedy and disaster to the terrorist organization making them more vulnerable for further defeats. Informations from Wanni, said that many terrorist leaders are expected to be perished during the confrontations. Meantime LTTE Batticaloa head, Bahnu is said to be under serious medical treatment in Wanni, after SLAF stroked the LTTE Karadiyanaru Training base on 29th of July. Though Bahnu, merely escaped death his status is reported to be in a fatal condition. Intercepted LTTE radio transmissions have confirmed that the LTTE has lost 330 or more terrorists during the limited siege. Trincomalee, LTTE terrorist head Soornam, had been heard desperately calling for more reinforcement from Batticaloa, during the last sessions of the attack.
To cover-up its losses previously the LTTE tigers announced that they were handing over 40 bodies of the Sri Lanka forces to the Red Cross, but the ICRC officials denied that they have been asked to take over any bodies by the LTTE terrorists. Fancying the luck: LTTE fancied their luck when they closed the anicut on July 20 and acted as if they were the sole proprietors of the water streaming down the Mavil Aru. This cruel crime denying to 30, 000 acres of paddy crops much needed water at this most crucial period when the crops are maturing and allowing the crops to perish amounts to inhumanly depriving 15,000 families of their lively and drinking water. Later the LTTE terrorist ended up in a total mess when they were comprehensively whacked by the SL security forces in their attempt to gain control over key points in the Trincomalee area.
