The Sri Lanka Security Forces should be more representative of all communities that make up the Sri Lankan Nation (Charles Perera, Lanka web 07-09-2006)Daya Nikahetiya. What Mr. Charles Perera has expressed here is very true, clear and direct. The Sri Lankan security force should be a national force representing all Sri Lankan communities. It is a must and it is the foremost wish of all peace loving people. Unfortunately during the resent past the terrorist elements had systematically eliminated most of our devoted, brave soldiers belonging to all communities, by using most uncivilized, brutal and cruel methods undermining the ceasefire agreement with the Government and misleading the international community. Mr. Perera has very correctly explained this by saying "There is no doubt there are and there have been valiant men of other communities in the armed forces in Sri Lanka, and some of them had given their lives in this war against terrorism." While chasing after and killing of each and every important opponent of these terrorist elements, on the same time they take every possible action to discourage, prohibit or to forcibly stop the youths joining the Sri Lankan army by using all kind of methods. There by they try their best and make every attempt to reduce the numbers in the National Security Forces in two ways. They did it for a long time and still doing it by using force, aggression, death-threats intimidation, and propaganda, and spreading hate, fear, suspicion among their community against other ethnics. Civilians are not allowed to cooperate or to have any connection what so ever with the National Forces. If any one do not obey to their orders all those individuals and even their kith and kin are subjected to the capital punishment. According to the jungle law operates in these parts of the country; no one has the right to race their voice against the will of the superior power or to act contradictory to any of their fascist laws. While not allowing the youths to voluntarily join the Sri Lankan army, on the other hand they make every effort and use all kind of methods to strengthen their war machinery and increase the numbers in their jungle army. They did it in the past and are still doing it by kidnapping children inclusive tsunami-orphaned, terrorising them and their families; recruiting them as child soldiers, smuggling artillery, arms and ammunitions, merciless taxation of innocents, drugs-dealing and money-laundering to race the funds to cover the war expenses, forcing rural folk, farmers, and house-wives; even pregnant mothers and school children to join for the compulsory war training. They do it in mass scale under colourful banners as a show-piece, making wide propaganda, as a preparation for the final war and mislead innocents given them assurance and high hope of an Elam-kingdom. They lead or hijack the innocents into the jungle by force or other wise, and they are brainwashed, injected hatred, jealousy, and racist, fascist, fanatic ideas into their minds and convert them to bionic killers, then use them against other communities as well as democratic, moderate, peace loving citizens of their own community. That is how they were able to introduce so called suicide-cyanide culture and maintain loyalty and obedience to them among civil community in their devil territory and keep them under control. Now the people are gradually realizing the difference between reality and myth, and feel the true nature of these beasts. It seems now their high-time is over and these ruthless, fascist terrorists are loosing in every front nationally and internationally. Even most of their supports now admit this fact and, they feel shame for dreaming a fantasy fascist's dream for many years which never come through. So it is evident this is the most suitable time to strengthen the Sri Lankan army again according to the ethnical proportion and let all share the responsibility to safeguard this nation. One of the main demands of the tiger terrorists is to disarm the commander Karuna and other splinter groups. So the Sri Lankan government could meet this demand in a very logical way. As we all aware Karuna and most of other Tamil political groups have given assurance to commit to non-violence and they have already entered into the main democratic political stream. While the leaders engage in political work the other members of these
democratic groups should also be given an opportunity to involve in
other national services. Therefore what the government could do is to
recruit all those qualified members of democratically motivated groups
to Sri Lankan National Force and other services through proper recruitment
procedures; and give them a chance to serve this nation and to bare
the responsibility to safeguard the integrity of this country and promote
peace harmony and goodwill among all communities. Surely this will help
to expedite the down-fall of most inhuman, brutal, fanatic, racist,
and fascist, terrorist murders along with their agents for ever. |
