Prize First - Peace Later for Sarvodaya-What a Sham?

The word " terrorism" according to the dictionary means " use of violence and intimidation for political purposes." The LTTE has been termed as terrorists and the most brutal terrorist group at that-this is not a judgement that we Sri Lankans have made, but the world at large. From time to time, we have also read news items where it has been stated that lTTE also has close links with other terrorist groups in the world.

How have other western countries which have faced terrorist threats, dealt with their problems? Western governments like the USA may also be termed "terrorist" for what they have done in Japan, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Panama where in some instances, they have even used chemical weapons to achieve their political agenda. The after-effects are yet visible in these countries that faced US aggression. One cannot ever call this "humanitarianism" in any way. They used " peace" when they wanted to hood-wink The Soviet Union into dismantling their military weaponry in order that the USA could become " The only super-power " in the world. Unfortunately, the leaders of the Soviet Union at the time, in their innocence believed the US Government was sincere and honest in their overtures. While the Soviet Union destroyed or disposed of their weaponry, the USA kept their weaponry in tact and even produced more to establish themselves as The Super Power in the world! It has taken Russia nearly a decade, to recover from the mess they created for themselves by believing the USA.

It is well known that the USA and other western countries like the UK and Norway, to use words like "fundamental rights" and " humanitarian" to sell arms with one hand and fund NGOs with the other hand, for them to control economically weak or developing countries in Africa and the Asian region. That is how those countries prosper economically. They offer Peace Prizes to individuals in these countries as a cover for their hidden agendas to create divisions within countries.

We Sri Lankans have been at the butt end of this manipulation for nearly 30 years. While supplying arms to the terrorists on the one hand, they have been manipulating all subsequent governments beginning from the time of JR Jayawardane to negotiate peace with the terrorists. While doing this, Christian backed INGOs and NGOs have been entering Sri Lanka and operating in this country to conduct unethical conversions of innocent Buddhists and Hindus. Ofcourse, they enter the country to help the government with "socio-economic development" or to help in "conflict resolution!" NGOs survive and prosper, only if they play double games in developing countries and this is what we see happening in Sri Lanka today. NGOs like Sarvodaya have been reaping rich harvests for 40 odd years, using this "double-tongued" method.

There is absolutely no doubt that not a single Sri Lankan wants war except the terrorist outfit of the LTTE and we Sri Lankans must see it in its correct perspective. All NGOs that are yearning for peace have two things which they must do achieve "their peace" and that is (1) visit the countries selling arms to the terrorists and demand that they stop selling arms to the LTTE (2) go to the Wanni and meet Prabhakaran and his gang and demand that they lay down their arms and enter the democratic path to negotiate with the incumbent government if they "wish for peace."

The Government of The Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, The Executive President and her Armed Forces have a bounded duty by all her citizens, to ensure the security and sovereignty of this country. To ensure that terrorism is crushed to protect the country and her citizens. Let no one in his right mind think that the LTTE is "the representative voice" of the majority of the Tamil community because they are not! Let no NGO try to influence the administration of the country to achieve their hidden agendas for personal gains.

The leader of Sarvodaya who has actually placed the cart before the horse, in first winning a Peace Prize in Canada (while terrorists attacked and nearly murdered our Army Commander during the same period), now needs to justify receiving that Peace Prize- therefore, he must "seem to be" promoting peace. How much peace were you able to achieve through "The Sama Bhavana" which you conducted 2-3 years ago with foreign funding? Please go and meet Prabhakaran, talk to him and convince him that Sri Lanka wants peace, get him to lay down his weapons and fall on his knees and beg for mercy for all the atrocities he has committed against innocent civilians of all races who lived in harmony before he commenced his terrorist war in this country. Once he & his gang lay down their weapons-there will be no war in Sri Lanka. Then and only then, will it be justified to accept the next Prize that is in the offing!

The CFA has never been honoured by the LTTE, it only tied the hands of the Armed Forces and The Government, while LTTE continued atrocities unabated. Please do not live in a fool's paradise
