Orphans, Students or what are these children ?In war or aggression how many children become victims, be it in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Yugoslovia or Sri Lanka.By Charles PereraThe UNICEF and the UN had made certain investigations about recruitment of children for the terrorists’ child brigade. After the Tsunami many children were orphaned and many of them were lost in the make shift camps in which they were being looked after. The UNICEF did not make a real effort to search for these tsunami orphaned children lost from these homes. The LTTE said that they did not recruit children as their fighting
cadre. The UNICEF did not collect names or photographs of the children in these terrorist orphanages, as far as it is known. Were there really orphanages in LTTE held areas ? Or were these children of the LTTE orphanages looked after and trained by the LTTE for other services reserved to them when they grew up ? The UNICEF had not made a full investigation. The suicide human bombs, of the LTTE were mostly young women. Did the UNICEF investigate about the past of these young women ? Where they came from, who their parents were etc;?They must have had a child hood somewhere ….? Those things did not interest the UNICEF. Let alone the orphans, did the UNICEF investigate whether the children
in the LTTE held areas attended schools ? If so who were the teachers,
what were they taught…? The UNICEF whose priority is the welfare
of the Children, should have made investigations as to how they a re
being looked after by a band of terrorists. Are there in the LTTE held
areas students ? Now when the Army who had not moved a finger when the LTTE terrorists were killing the soldiers, civilians, students and children in numbers….no body asked the terrorists to stop these assassinations and settle matters through peaceful means. The Sri Lanka Army has had enough…when the LTTE terrorists
cut off One of these sites bombed by the Kfir planes, happened to be a place hidden in the jungle where a number of girls between the age of 18 to 20, as stated by the SLMM, had been accommodated for what ever reason, known only to the terrorists. Now, every body is up in arms against the army for having bombed a girls’ School in the jungle. And the UNICEF and many others had found a number of students congregated in one place in the middle of the jungle, in an area Controlled by the LTTE terrorists, and they happen to be “ students”. Were they really students, or Orphans, and why was the school in the jungle ? Were there teachers in the school who had also died ? If there were teachers they may have been older than the “student” girls ? Were there blackboards on the walls of the school. ? We saw none in the video footage presented by the LTTE website. Strangely, the” parents” of some of the wounded children, wanted them to be sent to hospitals in Colombo for treatment, but the LTTE terrorists have turned down the request…! Why ..? Cannot the UNICEF move in the matter to have these “children” transported to Colombo hospitals ? Why is the LTTE not willing to have them sent to Colombo ? Do they fear the revelation of their real identity…student….orphans… or whatever ? Orphans, Students or what are these children ? In war or aggression how many children become victims ? In Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Yugoslavia students were victims of terrorism. In suppression of terrorism, the responsibility for the consequences of the acts of suppression, is that of the perpetrators of terrorism. Therefore, the government forces are only doing its best to rid the country of the terrorists, and in that effort they cannot be blamed for any consequences of their acts taken to end terror. |
