Daya Master's Hospital Bill-SLMM Impartiality?

We wish to question as to whether there is any clause in the so called P-Toms or CFA which states that the SLMM pays hospital bills of terrorists in Sri Lanka? If so, the citizens would certainly like to know which clause, just as matter of curiosity & general knowledge. This question is asked because of certain media reports which state that SLMM paid the hospital bill. However, in an article which appeared in "The Nation" newspaper of 16th July 2006, it is quoted : " Meanwhile, despite allegations that the hospital had been footed by the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission, spokesman for the truce monitors, Thorfinnur Omarsson vehemently denied the claims, saying that they were baseless. Mr. Omarsson said that the LTTE had paid the Apollo Hospital bill after its Media Spokesman was discharged. " On 15th July 2006, the "Lanka Truth" reports otherwise and states -quote:
" Hospital charges of Daya Master will be borne by SLMM said its spokesman " end quote. Who are we to believe?

If it is as Mr. Omarsson states, it was the LTTE that paid the bill, we have nothing to worry. However knowing how much the SLMM and especially Norway, have in the past been working hand in glove with the terrorists to supply them arms as well as communication equipment using their diplomatic immunity, it will be no surprise even if they did actually pay the bill. During the aftermath of the Tsunami which hit Sri Lanka on 26th December 2004, it was also reported that 2 expensive coffins were transported to the Wanni with diplomatic escort- to bury whom, is yet a question? It must surely have been for someone extremely important in the LTTE or else, such a help would not have been granted by any of the SLMM countries. It is no secret that in the past and even at present, the sympathies of the SLMM and Norway are more with the terrorists rather than with the legitimate GOSL It is also an " open secret" that there are many secrets between these parties which involve among other things the supply of arms to the terrorists!

Somehow, it is strange that when the terrorists commit atrocities against their own people in the North and the East, the SLMM prefers not to have received reports but they are quick to implicate government The Armed Forces when Tamil civilians are killed by the LTTE! Such is the role of the impartial Monitoring Mission. Just like the likes of Rev. Rayappu Joseph of The Catholic Church of Sri Lanka. The SLMM also prefers not to see or hear anything related to the child conscriptions for the LTTE student's brigade!

The citizens of Sri Lanka and especially the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities in the North and East would appreciate very much, if ordinary citizens who are subject to LTTE terrorism could be given the same protection they gave Daya Master a known & brutal murderer when they are sick or wounded- as being part of their role as the SLMM.

It is amazing that Daya Master who according to his wife Kanapathipillai Kumereshwari, supposedly was so serious after Cardiac Arrest that he needed emergency Heart Bypass Surgery, was discharged from Apollo Hospital even before 72 hours because " highly professional team of doctors at Apollo" stated that his condition did not warrant surgery! Maybe, the diagnosis was done after the NMAT filed a Police Complaint under the "Prevention of Terrorism Act" to arrest this most notorious murderer of the LTTE and therefore, in the same secretive manner that he arrived in Colombo, so did he leave Colombo to return to Kilinochchi minus surgery!

Stranger still is that such a serious patient was not transported back and forth in an ambulance, but in a luxury Mitsubishi Montero Jeep accompanied by an official of the Monitoring Mission. The driver of this vehicle did not even possess a valid Driving License but had only his Identity Card in his possession! The vehicle bearing no. HK 6922 and registered under the name of Rathnayake Mudiyanselage Ananda Sarathkumara Rathnayake of 154 Palugasdamana, Polonnaruwa did not possess a Revenue License nor an Insurance Policy! How many rules has the SLMM & LTTE broken in this very strange episode? Is this behaviour permitted by the Traffic Police purely because Daya Master was a terrorist leader and because he was accompanied by an official of the SLMM?

How many of us can break the law of this land with such impunity- if we did, what would have been the dire repercussions that we would have had to face? Strange isn't it?

It seems, it is more dignified & respectable to be a" terrorist" in this country- after all, all of us could hope for VIP treatment just like terrorist Daya Master, Prabhakaran or Anton Balasingham of the LTTE!
