Petition addressed to The President of Sri Lanka was handed over to the Sri Lankan High Commissioner HE Mrs Kshenuka Senewiratne

The petition was on behalf of: -
Jathika Hela Urumaya (UK)
The Sinhela Centre (UK)
International Movement against Terrorism
Federation of Sri Lankan Organisation in the UK against Terrorism in Sri Lanka

The above organisations requested the High Commissioner to forward the petition to His Excellency. The presentation was at the High Commissions office in London on 22 June 2006.

The petition dealt with: -

1) The murder of 64 innocent men, women and children by Tamil terrorists at Kebitigollewa on 16th June 2006

2) Reminded the President that 30 of the most powerful countries of the world have prescribed the Tamil terrorist in their respective countries

3) Questioning the reason/s for providing transport to the leaders of the Tamil terrorist – on return from for Oslo

4) Requesting the President to take appropriate action to weed out the named traitors from the security forces

5) Help to eradicate UK based BBC from broadcasting false and malicious news items that are heavily geared to support the Tamil terrorist

6) Reference was made to matter relating to Kooragala; Etc

After reminding The President that Sri Lanka is for the Sri Lankans and Buddhist Etc The above organizations offered their full support to His government and requested The President to take appropriate action to smooth-out areas of concerns as listed.
