"Major General Ulf Henricsson, the Head of Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM), in an interview to AFP, Thursday, criticised the European Union for having ignored a "seven-point memo" sent by the SLMM before banning the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The EU ruling meant the Sri Lankan government thought it had "carte blanche" to take on the Tigers, the outgoing Head of Mission said adding that he had become "more convinced than other" that there would be no military solution to the Sri Lankan crisis."The EU decision was made following a "more high-level decision made in the cafes of Brussels," the Swedish Major General was quoted as saying.The above were headline news in the LTTE clarion the Tamil Net."

They sound like parting shots from a disgruntled failure of an OLD MAN.

One could sympathize with this man at his frustration and his possible fear. Frustation because he was a failure in the Paradise Island. He probably may have had dreams of settling down in warm Sri Lanka and resting his old bones probably as a military advisor or some high falluting crap title to the LTTE. Where do retired generals from Sweden (that nobody wants), go to spend their last days?

Fear because, I am sure the General knows that the LTTE is ruthless and unforgiving. In Sweden or Norway where there are LTTE stooges among the vast number of tamil economic refugees who entered these countries on the pretext of war in Sri Lanka, one is really not safe. So I suppose the General, even though the LTTE kicked him and other SLMM members from EU countries out, probably felt he better watch what he says and buy some insurance from the LTTE by blaming the GoSL.

After all, the general almost got his butt blown off at Mavil Aru, when he tried to be a hero and open Mavil Aru gates with the LTTE butchers, without obtaining prior permission from the SCOPP. He seems to keep some bad company of late.

Pray correct me if I am wrong, he appears to assume that the decision to ban the LTTE was made by the EU in the cafes of Brussels. Probably the Swedes make their important military and political decisions in the cafes of Stockholm. He is insulting the USA, Canada, Britain, India and Australia too, who banned LTTE before the EU. After all, these countries too have cafes.

Mr. General, you insult foreigners like us too. I visit the Paradise Island quite regularly and I wine and dine with the Sinhalese, Tamils, Moslems and Burgers in Colombo, Sri Lanka. They do not have a problems living in a multi-racial, multi-religion and multi-ethnic society. In fact there are almost twice as many tamils living in Colombo as there are in the North and in the East put together. So why the heck should there be a (imaginary) homeland for these goons in the North and the East.

Are the tamils who live in the North and in the East so special? What is this baloney about the aspirations of the tamils in Sri Lanka.

Pardon the Pun, but Mr. Kadiragamar was not a Chinese, neither was GG Ponnambalm nor Ramanathan. They all had one aim in life. A united, a free and a strong Sri Lanka.

Well, Good bye Mr. General. I am sure the simple people of the Paradise Island will forgive your harsh words, or else next time I visit Sri Lanka I'll wear a sign on my back saying "I am not Swedish".

You certainly give us foreigners a bad name.
