Long Live Sri Lanka

Ratnajeewa Halpita

“The cat is out of the Bag!” Anton Balasingham has admitted that the LTTE did kill Rajiv Ghandi of India, a true son of India much loved by the people of India and a great leader. This is not news for the Sri Lankans and the Indians as we all knew that it was the LTTE who were behind this from the beginning. Now when the whole world is looking down upon them, when they have been exposed of their barbarism and terrorism, it has started this new strategy of “Saying Sorry”

But it could be an eye opener for the rest of the world who are being deceived by the LTTE’s habitual and constant denial of all the crimes they commit. It clearly shows the ability of the LTTE to lie through their teeth. It was none other than Anton Balasingham who has been vehemently denying the fact that it was the LTTE that killed the Indian leader and the pro LTTE media had been promoting this view. Now he has turned round and accepted the fact. It is interesting to note that he also admits facts that are embarrassing for India about the training of LTTE and supporting them. Caution- these come from a set of people who would trade anything with anyone to achieve their target and utter any lie to justify that.

There are some interesting points to note in this confession of Anton Balasingham. In addition to admitting the killing of Rajiv Ghandi, he has revealed that India trained the LTTE carders and supported them. Yet these unfaithful barbarians went ahead and killed the son of the very woman (then Prime Minister Indira Ghandi) who helped the LTTE to stand on its legs and the son of the soil which helped them to grow in strength. They blew a son of India to pieces using a woman suicide carder trained by the men groomed in India. Then the LTTE was shameful enough to ask for help and use the weapons given by the Premadasa regime of Sri Lanka to fight the army of the very country who supported them and nourished them. Then again they were ungrateful enough to hit back at the very same Premadasa who helped them to fight the Indian army and blow him to pieces. India and Sri Lanka have done the same mistake in the past in entertaining this murderous ungrateful terrorist organization and we cannot afford to keep making the same mistake over and over again.

It is very easy for Anton Balasingham to say to put the past behind. But for India a nation where one of its greatest and beloved leaders was killed in the most brutal manner and whose army was attacked ever so ruthlessly , it could be very hard if not impossible to “put that past behind”

It is very clear that the LTTE cannot be trusted for any of its undertakings or for its promises. Sri Lanka has been facing this situation for a very long time and it is an irony that the International Community forces the Sri Lankan Government to trust and keep faith in this untrustworthy murderous organization. Let us hope that this would be an eye opener for the rest of the world and they realize the need for the elimination of these terrorists. As for the Sri Lankan government they have a moral right to protect its citizens from this murderous lot. They cannot indefinitely keep quite and wait till the last son of the soil is blown to pieces. The time has come for it to follow the only way to protect the civilians from terrorists and suicide bombs- “hunt them down from where ever and destroy”

The UNP and its dirty politicos seem to be still wedded to the LTTE and continue giving statements that helps the terrorists and deterrent to the country. The foul mouthed SB has said that the government should not blame the LTTE for all the crimes committed. It is apparent that the UNP has not severed the links it had with the LTTE since it gave the terrorists a large haul of military weapons and does not seems to have learnt a lesson from the murder of it’s very leader who gave the arms to the LTTE . It seems to have not learnt a lesson even after it’s hemophrodite leader was fooled and cheated to sign the grossly partial CFA that was forced down his throat by the crafty Norwegians. If the UNP does not recognize its mistakes and start acting sensibly, it would lead to a political disaster for them. This is not a time to be divided and quarrelling and those who do not work towards the betterment of the nation will be eternally rejected by the people. It is up to the UNP to show its maturity and come forward to extend its hand to President Rajapaksa in repulsing and crushing the terrorists. LONG LIVE SRI LANKA!
