The enemies within: Betrayers to the NationShenali Waduge
“Your own people are helping the Tigers” is often echoed by Tamil citizens in social circles. The statement obviously implies that certain Sinhalese are involved in aiding and abetting terrorist activity. Taking note of most of the terrorist targets in the recent past and the inquiries resulting therein has revealed that there is plenty of truth in such statements being echoed.
In the face of the latest suicide attack by the LTTE on Maj. Gen. Parami Kulatunga we are made to understand that even within the Army there are traitors who are drawing salaries from the tigers to kill the very men they call “Sir”.
What do we do about these traitors and betrayers to the Nation? When we are all praying to finally see an end to this bloodshed and loss of innocent lives our own people are contributing to its growth.
These “Brutus’s” among us should be severely dealt with
and I doubt any taxpayer would want them in prison with free food &
shelter for the betrayal they have done. In a country that has become
accustomed to assassinations, murders and destruction why should we
hesitate to introduce the death penalty especially to those that betray
the Nation? |
