If the dead comrades of LSSP were to hear the lopsided political rhetoric of Vasudeva Nanayakkara, there bones will rattle in their tombs.

The anti-war peddlers should organise the people in North and East to express freely, whether they would liked to be ruled by the fascist Prabhakaran or the democratic Government of Sri Lanka.Until then even talking about a negotiated settlement with the LTTE terrorists, is a ridiculous proposition.

The covenants for the right of dependent peoples to claim self-determination, came in the wake of peace after- war to allow decolonization of dependent countries. This required a plebiscite or a referendum of the people, living in a geographical territory, speaking the same language and with (above all) a common political aim.

This cannot be applied in every instance even if the basic requirements are present in a given case. There may be similar protracted situation as that of Sri Lanka, or Corsica for instance, to which self-determination may not be appropriate for various reasons.

Theory being what it is, the LTTE terrorists cannot claim self-determination, not having the approval of the people in the first instance , and secondly not being representatives of the Tamil people. Claiming to be representative is one thing, and being representative is another. The LTTE terrorists cannot guarantee, to the people of North and East neither a democratic political system, nor a respectable social environment. The people of North and East had been for far too long prisoners of fear, threat and torture of a savage group of terrorists.

Under the circumstances, Vasudeva Nanayakkara should be ashamed of him-self to mix with NGO funded Jehan Perera, Kumar Rupasinghe, Jayadeva Uyangoda, Rajita Senaratne and the rest of anti war-pro-LTTE terrorist sympathisers. For Vasudeva, though a selfish politician, was a Samasamajist- a member of a respected political party. If the dead comrades hear him now their bones will rattle in the tombs.

If the anti-war peddlers, really care for the people in the North and East , who are the direct victims of LTTE terrorism , like the people of Afghanistan under the Talibans, should organise the people in North and East to safely give their opinion for or against being ruled by the fascist self anointed Sun king- the personified devil him-self.

The anti-war lobby takes theory as practicable by a gang of ruthless terrorists. Self-determination of a people should be spear headed by a democratic political party representative of the repressed people. In the case of North and East the repression of the people are not caused by the government but by the LTTE terrorists.

Therefore even talking about a negotiated settlement with the LTTE terrorists is a ridiculous proposition. Such a settlement will seal the fate of innocent civilians in North and East. This situation should not be allowed and therefore the government should continue the defensive military attacks and bombardments until the bunkers burst and Prabhakaran and his rotten terrorist gang are reduced to smithereens.
