Should change its concept of world leadership.

(Hillary Clinton as the next American President would therefore be a welcome change.)

America produces films like Terminator, a machine like a man with two guns in hand that kills every thing that moves. It is such a gun culture with which the young Americans live. It was in Blacksburg in Virginia a young American killed 33 fellow students. It is not the first time that similar incidents have taken place. Each time it happened the numbers of victims have increase. It can be condoned and forgotten but the seriousness of the matter lies in the fact that it happened in America which is the unchallenged leader of the world to-day. America which tries to put the world in order is unfortunately unable to put its own house in order.

In Iraq suicide bombs go off practically every day, and unaccounted numbers die. America and UK have an armed presence and yet they are unable to stop the mounting deaths. Iraq wants US to withdraw its armed forces. US despite its naked impotence to stop the massacres continues maintains its useless military presence . Young American soldiers are the sacrificial lambs of Bush’s war in Iraq.

America tells Sri Lanka that war is not the solution to terrorism, while it carries on its war both in Iraq and Afghanistan against terrorism , while threatening another against Iran or North Korea. How is it possible that USA does not seem understand the absurdity of its statements made by its Ambassadors and representatives of its State Department about military retaliations against LTTE terrorists in Sri Lanka. while carrying on its unwinnable war in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is sad , that the richest country in the world, which could provide all comfort , peace and happiness to its own people, is unable even to provide minimum of safety and protection to its own school children.

There is something basically wrong with American system. American administration believes, that using force, being aggressive, arrogant , using threat, looking at problems from its own point of view, advising nations without foreseeing the consequences in following its advice, interfering by word and action in the affairs of other nations, is a mark of leadership. This negative presumptive assumption of leadership will naturally have its repercussions on the American Society. The gun culture, intolerance, threat, trade embargo, false pride, and utter disregard for smaller nations are the hall marks of American leadership. It is time that America tries to understand that there is another possible way of giving leadership to the world. It is through tolerance, compassion , and loving kindness that USA can, not only give a human face to its leadership, but also make the American people happy, and peaceful. The words like love, affection ,compassion, trust and kindness are absent in the language of the American Leadership.

Bush has failed to bring peace and happiness to the American people, and the American leadership under Bush, has utterly failed to inspire hope among the people of the world. USA has not won the admiration, and affection of the world nations, but only fostered their dislike, distrust, and even hatred. The Society made by men has failed to generate compassion, tolerance, trust and understanding. Perhaps things may change if the situation is changed and a women are made to lead Nations. We already see it happening since the election of the Mrs. Pelotsi, as the President of the American Senate. The American Senate has under her leadership demanded the withdrawal of the American army from Iraq on a set calendar. The American presence in the world will change further if Mrs.Hilary Clinton becomes the next President of America.
