$ 7.2 Million Canadian Dollars used in Buying 60 Tons of Explosives Including 10 Tons of RDX
Contributed to the Destruction of Life and Property in Colombo, Sri Lanka on January 31,1996

The front organizations of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) operating in Canada remitted
$7.2 million to the Ukraine to purchase 60 tons of explosives which went towards the destruction of
the Central Bank Building in the financial district of the City of Colombo, causing the death of 114
innocent civilians and maiming of over 1400 other persons on January 31, 1996, exactly, 11 years
back. These explosives also went to fill the body suits worn by the Black Tiger Suicide Bombers who struck on over 246 occasions mainly against civilian targets killing thousands of innocent people in that far off land. The complete story was published in the Macleans Magazine of August 1996. The LTTE has since been banned in Canada as of April 8, 2006, but are said to be still raising funds for procurement of weapons for their terrorist cause of dismembering Sri Lanka by force of arms.

The immense pain and suffering borne by the people of Sri Lanka were not recognized till terrorists
struck at targets closer to home in the United States of America on 9/11/2001. Let us ensure that
no Canadian funds reach any terrorist group to commit similar atrocities anywhere.
