LTTE AIR ATTACKS-BLESSING IN DISGUISE!

Had Rt Hon Ranil Wickremasinghe or Madame Chandrika Bandaranaike been in power, LTTE would never have resorted to display its air capabilities. LTTE was having a honeymoon under RW and CBK ( two dead heros in my books, yet haunting at random intervals), why should they ever attack their next of kin. P-TOM arrangement by CBK, in spite of mounting opposition by Jatika Hela Urumaya, Mahinda Rajapakse group of SLFP and the JVP, has paved way for the terrorists to legally procure goods and services from overseas, including transfer of technical know-how.. Former US President Bill Clinton would not have understood the ulterior motives of these terrorists, even though he wholeheartedly supported P-TOM by personally inspecting logistic arrangements.

Views expressed by Shenali Waduge, Charles Perera, Prof. Hudson are extremely valuable demonstrating genuine concern for our country. It is glad to note that Major General.Janaka Perera, currently the SL Ambassador in Jakarta has been recalled and will be in the Island of Paradise soon. Major General Janaka will definitely be valuable source of information, a man with a mission, commitment and forward planning. It is best that he is as close as possible to the 'decision making' group, rather than working in Jalan Dipenogoro, Jakarta.

Whilst continuous attacks on East are important, it is equally imperative to attack the deep jungles, bunkers, air strips in North where LTTE are operating. SL government knows where LTTE head quarters are, need not write here what should be done.

India's attitude thus far for the Terrorism issue has been pathetic. India is pregnant with prejudice, still mourning the death of Rajiv Gandhi and concerned of repercussions of India getting involved again in SL affairs. Indian leadership has no spine, it is living in a dream world, not realizing the underlying dangers. If India wish to be an active partner for the fight against terrorism in Asia, it will be to their advantage too. SL leaders have travelled to India several times in recent times and have provided relevant information, yet Indian government at large is playing games with the most vicious group of Terrorists.

The President Mahinda Rajapakse is not pressing the panic button. Instead, he will be doing utmost to gather momentum, with international support, in a manner in which the Air Attacks will be responded to the ultimate elimination of Terrorism from Sri Lanka and bring peace to Asia. Let Sri Lanka take the leadership!
