Bob Rae-A LTTE Sympathizer?

S. Hewa

Dear Mr Rae:

In a recent speech delivered by Bob Rae, the former NDP Premier of Ontario, now born-again Liberal, in memory of Kethesh Loganathan, who was killed by the LTTE terrorists, disappointed all democratic activists in Sri Lanka.

He showed no understanding of the struggle of democratic state of Sri Lanka against the world's most ruthless terrorists group, which refused to negotiate and continue to recruit Tamil children for its terrorists activitiy.

He asked the terrorists to allow democracy in areas they control, while using his strongest language against the democratic state of Sri Lanka.

This shows the level of his own respect for democratic values and principles, and perhaps explains his own ability to change political parties to gain power. He did not ask the LTTE terrorists to stop terror tactics, and enter into democratic path to achieve a political solution to the problem in Sri Lanka, as he would normally ask from the Islamic militants operating in the Middle East against Israel.

That would be difficult for him because tit would go against his own future political interest in Ontario. I know, it is unrealistic to expect from politicians, who change parties seeking for power to uphold principles.
