Sir:

Fifteen British sailors are taken hostage by the Iranians and The Ottawa Citizen's 72-point bold head-line *Canada** blasts Iran over hostages*, screamed at me at 4:30 in the morning on March 31.

When the Tamil Tiger terrorists carried out their first ever air attack on Sri Lanka’s Air Force base adjacent to Colombo’s International airport killing two and injuring another 17 after midnight on March 25, there wasn’t even a pip squeak from Canada condemning this attack. What troubles me is when geo-politically there is a danger of an unauthorized aircraft in the hands of a non state party in the dangerous context of terrorism today, that it was ignored by Canada who has told the world that she is fighting international terrorism.

I suspect that with the looming possibility of a spring election the Conservatives are doing their River Dance around the Greater Toronto Area 100,000 Tamils to win their votes by not antagonizing them by criticizing the Tamil Tiger first ever terrorist air attack.

This incident reminds me of the jingle, “If you are white, you are alright. If you are brown we couldn’t care even if you drown.”
