LET US JOINTLY CONFRONT THE TERRORISTS AND THEIR PROXIES TO PERISH OR PREVAIL

It is really sad and disheartening to find some individuals who happened to have born in our glorious nation, nourished and sustained under the free health service, free education and plenty of other facilities provided either free of charge or at subsidized rates for several generations and yet enjoying these free offerings by them and their kith and kin, and some who continue to rob the country misusing various positions acquired through numerous devious means including by threats and thuggery, and some who cheat the country by non-payment of taxes, enjoying concessions, subsidies and grants through furnishing false and forged documentation, and bribery ridiculing and mocking the armed forces and expressing jubilation over the recent terrorist air-raids and the potential air-threat.

The terrorist attack had been carried out against the sovereign state of Sri Lanka, our precious Motherland and not against the individual Mahinda Rajapakse or the political party SLFP or the government in power at present, or the political grouping that represents the government. Individual preferences, political affiliations, religious bigotry, racial chauvinism, caste consciousness, rich and poor distinction, urbanite/village criteria should not under any circumstance stand on the way when it comes to a matter related to one’s Motherland. These vicious and evil desperados should feel ashamed by the remarkable example shown recently by Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thero, of the Gangaramaya Temple, renown as Podihamuduruwo, despite being closely associated with the hierarchy of the UNP as its main Buddhist icon for several decades.

It is not worth the paper to comment about the shameful reaction shown by Ranil Wickremasinghe, the reprehensible foreign agent, who leads the Junk-UNP, over the Ven. Thero’s patriotic and exemplary statement, and the direction advocated. Articles written recently by the veteran and scholarly Journalist Mr. Mahindapala alone is sufficient for the treacherous Ranil to give up politics and settle down in one of his favourite foreign pastures if he has an iota of dignity and if he is not really endeavouring to help attain the objectives of forces inimical to Sri Lanka.

The recent speech made by the elephant trunked teeny-brained foreign puppet of the Junk-UNP, who as Minister of Interior in Ranil’s government helped the terrorists to violate all established laws of the country, including helping Balasingham to land at Iranamadu in a sea-plane in breach of Sri Lanka’s sovereign territorial rights, can be considered as the most contemptible and disgraceful speech ever made by a fellow holding a parliamentary seat. Even the terrorist-proxies who hold parliamentary seats have not ventured to humiliate this country and our armed forces to this dismal extent. It was disgusting to watch him making this outrageous speech and jubilantly saying that if the Colombo harbour was attacked by a tiger submarine “ethakota api okkoma kapothi”? (then we all are finished). Further he was posing a question saying that “if America with all the might in its hand cannot put an end to the terrorists in Iraq, what can a small country like Sri Lanka do?”? This is a culpable and deliberate statement to demoralize and frustrate our gallant forces, perhaps made at the instigation and guidance of the terrorist outfit.

I do not think that anyone from the Gampaha District who happened to hear these dastardly statements will ever vote for this beastly creature and certainly those who happened to vote for him even under duress and intimidation would be feeling utterly shameful. The fitting reply given by Minister Keheliya Rembukwella telecast in the ITN criticizing this terrorist enthusiast’s speech as a low, depleted, bemused speech exposing the indepth despair and despondency of the individual and his political circle is highly admirable. It is depressing to note that the Junk-UNP has become more pro-terrorists than the terrorist proxies TNA

In the meantime, it is highly commendable that many patriotic Sri Lankans who are knowledgeable about the aviation engineering, military strategy, weapons systems, aircraft types, radar systems, pilot training etc, have written many detailed articles and reports to the leading national dailies and the patriotic websites with the objective of drawing the attention of our defence establishment and with the earnest desire that at least by imparting these valuable knowledge they could help our forces, particularly the air-force and the navy to take suitable measures that are urgently required to combat the air-threat. This is only a trivial indication of the monumental determination of our patriotic masses to help and dedicate themselves in the service of defending the nation at any cost to counter and eliminate the current terrorist threat.

This patriotic flavour is lacking only in the Junk-UNP leadership and the parasites of the nation referred to at the beginning of this article, who needs to be identified and fittingly dealt with by the patriotic masses as they could not be allowed anymore to indulge in harming the nation at a time the country is facing its worst threat in its history. The government by itself cannot take such measures due to various international limitations, but the people have a responsibility and capability to act firmly on this issue, and even confront them head on. There is no difference between a tiger terrorist in the Vanni Jungle and a terrorist collaborator and admirer living among the masses. Both are enemies of the nation and both should be dealt with the same yardstick.

At the same time the government has a huge and unshirkable duty and responsibility to face the current threat immediately, firmly and resolutely and put a permanent and everlasting end to the threat as it has now entered its final stage. The terrorist outfit in its desperation may even try to use chemical devices against our forces and the people. Terrorists are violating the human rights of the masses, the right of the masses to live peacefully without any form of fear, anguish and uncertainty. They are also attempting to destroy the economic nerve centres of the country, and may even attempt to destroy the cultural monuments and cause damage to heritage sites in their desperate bid to overcome the defeat they are suffering on the ground and sea. It is the time for the government to seek required technological and combat support and assistance from any source and anywhere in the world and totally wipe out all forms of terrorist threat.

It is not the time now to talk about the stupid things called negotiations, peace talks, devolution or human rights and listen to voices that advocate these delaying tactics that obstructs the final march to terminate the terrorist menace. It was due to the folly of the past rulers caving into external manipulations the terrorists got respite and found means for strengthening their rogue forces to this extent. Other than the external forces even the loony leftists in the government may attempt to divert it from the cause of the obligatory military path. The government’s main and only responsibility should be to end the war and eliminate terrorism completely from this country, even by turning out Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu to become Sri Lanka’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The President should not even hesitate, if it becomes necessary, to suspend the Constitution, prorogue the Parliament, put the whole country on a war-footing, and form a War Cabinet to deal with the threat as it had been done by many Western countries in the past. Finish the main job and then see what should be done next.
