Self-opinionated opinion of a ‘Thamizh Eezham’ dreamer

The article - OPINION: OCCASIONAL COLUMN ON POLICY PERSPECTIVES
Sri Lanka and International Community [TamilNet, Sunday, 24 June 2007]

Nation, nation-state and nationalism maybe manifestations of a psychological phenomenon, experienced collectively by a group of people. It is a feeling of attachment and identity that comes naturally and is the norm anywhere in the world. It is the accepted norm in a democratic society, that everything has a sense of balance, of order. The minorities must accept the fact that they cannot dictate to or demand from the majority where and how they are governed. If every minority group within a country starts terrorist activities led by megalomaniac despots on the pretext of struggles for freedom, countries would disintegrate, there would be more land disputes, law and order will erode and there will be anarchy. The minorities must learn to give up their false pride and accept the nationalism of that country or leave the country.

Governments of Sri Lanka has always been democratically elected as such they are not oppressive to 98% of the country. It is only Tamil, LTTE terrorists and their supporters [200,000 max.] who say they are oppressed, 52% of the Tamil population in Sri Lanka live among the Sinhala and other communities in the South. Government action to send some staying in temporary accommodation back to their own homes and properties in the North and East failed as they do not want to be under the dictatorship of the murderous maniac and his honchos. The Tamil Disapora abroad [mainly asylum seekers some who have been ‘human smuggled’ to Western countries are the most vociferous supporters of the terrorist mob. Their reasons are understandable, as without the present conflict they cannot process their asylum applications. They and their families provide the funds and support to the LTTE terrorists. They instigate and spread false propaganda, to involve the international community. It will be interesting to see the numbers of Tamil Disapora and their children who will give up their citizenship / resident status in these foreign countries and return to Sri Lanka to live under the dictatorship of the maniac.

Your conclusion that Sri Lanka is a miserable failure as a nation state is baseless. Sri Lanka has been unfortunate to have political leaders, who have given into the unjust demands of the Tamil and other minorities with the sole purpose of winning elections for themselves and their political parties. Minority parties became King makers and held ministerial posts in all governments. This has been the root failure of Sinhala politicians who have hoodwinked the vast majority of Sri Lankan people for generations.

Jawaharlal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri did not sacrifice the interests of Tamils of Indian origin. They were aware that advocating separatism to a meagre 7% [Maximum 3 million]Tamil community in Sri Lanka, would force 60 million Tamils in Tamil Nadu to demand separate states!!! Tamil whether of Indian or Sri lankan origin or any origin are Tamil. The Tamils in Sri Lanka did not fall from the sky, at some stage they came from India. But the false pride of the Sri Lankan Tamil is shown, in the the way they dissociate themselves from the Indian Tamil Plantation community, and those in the East.

If Indira Gandhi was the first Indian leader to recognize the Tamil struggle, why did she not give independence and self-rule to Tamil Nadu? Indira Gandhi was only interested in annexing the North and East of Sri Lanka for safeguarding Indian defence and maritime interests and not for the demands and well being of 3 million Tamil Sri Lankans. She was the founder, and benefactor of Tamil Terrorists, who nurtured, supported and armed terrorists. However the murderous vermin gave her the thanks she deserved, by murdering her son and heir. Keeping rabid dogs as pets!!!!!

International Community do not have to guarantee the territorial integrity of Sri Lanka, it will be safeguarded by the gallant armed forces, Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and other community people, proud to call themselves sons and daughters of mother Lanka. LTTE terrorism is not a domestic issue as the tentacles of this murderous suicide bombing terrorists have spread far and wide. The terrorists will not last survive without funds generated illegally and by various underhand operations carried out by the terrorist agents and supporting Tamil Diaspora. The alleged oppressed are suicide bombing murderers who do not value their own life or that of anyone. Where are the human rights of all the innocent people blown to bits by these terrorist murderers? Terrorist vermin do not deserve human rights.

The same international community by their double standards in dealing with terrorism has enabled LTTE terrorists to survive and prolong death and destruction, they carry out. It must also be understood that most of the population in the North and the East do not produce or pay taxes for the services, however it is not the barbaric terrorists but the government of Sri Lanka, who upkeep them from tax revenues collected from the people in the south, as such International governments who are aware of humanitarian responsibilities have done their duty in helping the GOSL.

Just because a small minority of a community feels they are hurt and bleeding does not give them the right carry out terrorist activities against the majority people and demand separate states and self-rule. The LTTE phenomenon is the dream of a megalomaniac despot and his illiterate band of honchos. Some in the Tamil society has lost their credibility by their subservient attitude to the LTTE terrorists.

The writer has said that the Tamil question has attained full adulthood now, running a parallel government and having conventional forces of land, sea and air, achieved entirely through self effort. Can the writer explain why 52 % of the Tamil community in Sri Lanka living or resident in Colombo refusing to go and live in these areas under the so called parallel government? Why have the parallel government not supplied food, .material, health care medicine, utility and other services etc to the people at their expense?

The Muslim population in Sri Lanka at present is 7% [approx.] With Tamil nationalism they demand 1/3 of the land area and 2/3 of the sea-coast for less than 1% of the population. If Tamil Nationalism demand is given, what is there to stop the Muslim Nationalism to demand and area in proportion to their numbers? What about the Indian Tamil community in the upcountry and other communities? Where is the majority Sinhala community 75% [16 million] going to live? IS IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INDIAN OCEAN!!!!!!!!
In Sri Lanka, Sinhala, Tamil, Muslims and other communities have and enjoy the same rights, enshrined in the constitution. Tamils have not lost rights, but may have lost some unjust privileges they obtained by their subservient attitude, venerating on bended knees to the British colonial master. The reality today is that the master is gone forever and the privileges will never be restored. What is good for the other provinces is good enough for the Northern and Eastern province, nothing more and nothing less. Sri Lankans will never concede ‘Thamizh Eezham’ in Sri Lanka. This has always been the nation home for Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and other communities proud to call themselves Sri Lankans, and will always remain so until the end of the world.

President Rajapaksa, should use the cloth he displays around his neck., to push it down the throat of people like the anonymous writer of the article, to choke the daylights out of ungrateful imbeciles who use the free education they got from mother Lanka to ridicule her as a failed state.
