Eliminate terrorism and corrupted
politicians
Jay Deshabandu
I believe that most of the expatriates and those who love our country
in Sri-Lanka are very proud of our president Mahinda Rajapakhse for
his remarkable speech at the UN concerning human rights which he said
it was too important to be used maliciously to harm developing nations
as a tool for control by the opposition parties and the west.
Also I believe that he made histroy for dilivering his speech using
his own language unlike previous presidents or prime ministers who felt
inferior to use their own language. So Presdent Rajapakhse is undeniably
a hero in this sense.
Fortunately for Sri-Lanka, the UNP had made a one hundred eighty degree
turn in its policies and now it is keen on doing the right thing for
the people. It is also planing on eliminating its corrupted politicians
from its party. Also it has seen that Sri-Lanka is too important to
just play power games for power. So with these new policies it can become
popular among right thinking people and it could now have a chance of
coming to power during the next election. With its new policies it will
no longer have to ask JVP or TNA for support. The support would come
to them.
However the UNP should now work with the government to eliminate terrorism
using the military power. The present government should also do the
right thing and work with the UNP if it had actually changed its policies
to do the right thing for the people.
Showing the cause and its effect, the nature also took its toll on the
most notrious terrorist, racist and the mass murderer-the Prabakaran
who is now destined to be powerless physically and mentally. Most likely
he may be in the histroy within two months.
I hope that, in parallel with the speech given by our president, the
Sri-Lanka is also too important to accomadate corrupted, uneducated
and indecent politicians both within and outside the government, some
of whom steal money and even threaten our judiciary.
Sri-Lankan politics have changed, thanks to Mahinda Rajapkshe, and I
am sure he would corner and arrest those corrupted thieve-politicians
who are nothing but chip-monkeys.
