Dear Sir:
Re: Tamil Outfits to Ferry Medicines to Sri Lanka-August 7,2007
The Committee of Supporters of Independent Tamil Eelam it is reported
are planning to send humanitarian assistance to the Tamils in Sri Lanka
because the centre and state governments in India are not doing so.
Could it be that the centre and state governments know that the Tamils
in Sri Lanka are much better off than the Tamils in Tamil Nadu and that
this type of action is purely for political gain in Tamil Nadu politics
rather than in true humanitarian spirit? If this committee wants to
help those in true need, why do they not send this aid to the millions
who have been badly affected by the floods in India? The Indian government
is appealing to the world for aid. Perhaps by printing this letter you
could get the much needed aid to be diverted to those desperate people
shown daily on TV rather than trying to interfere in the internal matters
of a neighbouring country projecting again the image of "bully
India".
Another point to make is that if there is to be an "Independent
Tamil Eelam" it will have to be in Tamil Nadu India, the homeland
of Tamils worldwide. They should refer this to the centre government
for consideration.
