HAS SLAF MANAGED TO PUT THE FEAR OF MOSES INTO PRABHAKARN ?By Dr. Tilak S.FernandoAccording to reliable anti- LTTE information sources from the North the LTTE terrorist leader Velupillai Prabhakaran is reported to be a disturbed man and running helter skelter to save his own life ever since S.P Thamilselvan, his friend, former bodyguard, head of the LTTE's 'so-called political wing', soldier and 'smiling assassin' in both combat gear and civilian attire, who planned and executed civilians, the security forces and cheered with such attacks with a smile perished under SLAF aerial fire on a secret hideout a few days ago. The news reports further add that Prabakaran has immediately restricted his movements severely, altered his working patterns, his schedules, etc., while intensifying and fortifying his inner security circles by two to three fold. His latest behavioural patterns of constantly changing 'hide outs' and seeking more protective and secure dens are said to demoralise his own fighters, the reports add. Rumours are afloat claiming that during the SLAF aerial attack which killed Thamilselvan, Prabhakaran's son, Charles Anthony was also wounded. However, there are no official reports to confirm or substantiate this news. On an earlier occasion too, when the SLAF targeted Thamilselven's luxury four- wheel drive vehicle similar rumours emerged about Charles Anthony. In the meanwhile there is a strong belief among the terrorist outfit that vital information about Thamilselven's movements immediately prior to the day he got perished had been leaked out from none other than Pottu Amman who is in charge of the LTTE intelligence Service. Consequently, it is reported that the LTTE hierarchy have commenced interrogating several members of Pottu Amman's intelligence squad in connection with the leakage of such information to the Sri Lanka Air Force. The intelligence leakage of this magnitude prior to the fate of Thamilselvan bears witness to what degree a split among the hierarchical order of the LTTE is undergoing at present. One more thing people at large have been able witness immediately after Thamilselvan's death was yet another reprehensible campaign by the LTTE terrorists, its sympathetic political gangs, non governmental organisations (NGOs) and some of Sri Lanka's own inherited political traitors trying to emulate Prabhakaran and project Thamilselvan as a 'Dove of Peace'! According to former news report which the Asian Tribune carried on 03 July 2006 under the caption 'Health Card of Prabkaran is not as rosy as it ought to be' stated that he had become a matter of serious concern among the inner circle of the LTTE. According to some sources, as mentioned in the report, claimed that adverse reports were not forwarded to him fearing that such reports might affect his health and most of the work-load had been taken off his shoulders and delegated to the trusted cadres as far back as last year. Even prior to the latest set back Prabhakaran did not have a regular pattern to his daily routine fearing that his enemies could easily target him by studying his movements. He has been missing from the public eye after the government started to target key LTTE military installations. Asian Tribune after consulting various reliable sources had compiled Parbakaran's heath profile covering a period of 17 years. The report further added how doctors were most concerned about his diabetes and his bouts of depression. Partly because of this and partly because of security reasons his movements had been restricted several months ago. He was not seen for a long time as an outdoor activist and even his routine physical exercises had been confined to indoors. The loss of his trusted friend, the head of his political wing, is bound to affect his health and mental balance further, sources confirm. |
