POLITICAL STABILITY IN SRI LANKA

Shripal Nishshanka Fernando (Middle Bond)

If somebody thinks that JRJ had any farsighted vision, then he or she should read more and be aware what JRJ had proposed in late forties to Britain. Fortunately JRJ's proposal to make Sri Lanka a state under India was overwhelmingly rejected by British rulers thus saving the sovereignty, unity and partial independence of Sri Lanka. In that moment the late greats, D.S. and Sir John made sure to keep dangerous JRJ out of key politics in UNP. Anyhow, after Dudley Senanayaka's passing away, JRJ was handed the reign of the party and we can see what Sri Lanka faces thereafter. For the blunder after blunder took place by late Sirimavo's regime from 1970 through 1977, the people not just rejected the SLFP but threw them far away bringing TULF to the opposition. Thankful to JRJ, SLFP could take the opposition seats again on the introduction of French proportional voting system. Otherwise that could have been an end or a disastrous survival to SLFP.

The underworld agreement between SLFP and Rohana Wijeweera in late sixties before to 1970 General Election resulted the infamous coup in 1971. The conspiracy was to attack the UNP government if UNP wins. The SLFP won and the promised portfolios and compensation to Rohana Wijeweera and the gang were neglected by the ruling SLFP which resulted the '71 JVP uprising. Current JVP members may not be aware of the details but the truth can be explored with a wise and sharp vision.
Under the prevailing circumstances, in Sri Lanka, JVP is far away from reality and has a very long way to stand for the rights of Sri Lanka.

WHAT SRI LANKA NEEDS TODAY IS NOT JUST POLITICAL PARTIES, BUT PEOPLE WITH PATRITIC IDEAS WHO ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE FOR HER!

No strikes can ever lead a nation to the progress. No criticizing the Sri Lankan government abroad will bring honour to anybody but will jeopardize the good image of Sri Lanka. No rally after rally in various cities in Sri Lanka to weaken the government will bring any solution up.

If the current JVP members can simply understand the above and correct their mistakes, perhaps they may lead the nation one day. Otherwise they will be in the history as a party which harmed the nation in a big way.

Today, the National Budget of Sri Lanka has various significant measures as far as the boiling Sri Lankan political situation is concerned. Any legislative member of parliament who wants Sri Lanka to win over the present political crisis shall vote for the budget and resolve minor matters afterwards. This is how a National Force would function.

Ranil, Chandrika and the alliance together with Wanni murderous MPs are trying the best to topple government and JVP brothers and sisters are also counting their fingers to see when that day would come. They simply should go and fly a kite and see the beauty of it, rather than trying to harm Sri Lanka.
President Mahinda Rajapaksha shall use his intelligence and win the budget with brainy Jeyaraj, Karu and the patriotic monks and other MPs and teach the ultimate lesson to the traitors.

Sri Lankan Security forces shall commence simultaneous operations to liberate Wanni and other pockets from murderers and liberate Tamils form those areas where all Sri Lankans can live peacefully thereafter. It would be wonderful if the government's win in the parliament with the budget approval and the liberation of Wanni and the rest of the pockets could be celebrated together.

Long live brave Sri Lankan security forces and personnel!
Long Live Sri Lanka!
