Jhonston Fernando of UNP should be brought before Justice under emergency regulations.

By Charles Perera

I wonder whether there is provision under the emergency regulations to arrest and remand in Jail, people like Jhonston Fernando, Mangal Samaraweera, and Sooriarachchi and others who have turned out to be rumour mongers working against the welfare of the country, in the present situation. They are traitors speaking completely regardless of what damage they do to our motherland which is going through the worst period of its history.

Every intelligent person will agree that Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse the President is doing a remarkable job under very difficult circumstances.
These handful of people who seem to love to hear their own voices when addressing meetings or making press conferences pollutes the air and poison the minds. These ignorant sordid individuals do not seem to understand that while they live in comfort protected by security officers paid for by the taxpayer, and free to stand on a platform on the side of any high way and make “stinking remarks” , there are those who risk their lives every hour of the day.

The President Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse has got down his brother Gotabhya Rajapakse from America where he was living happily in peace, and put him in the forefront of the war against the terrorists, because he is a capable man with military experience and above all a person the President could trust.
Unlike Jhonston Fernando whose intelligence seems to be limited to “bark”
slogans, Gotabhaya Rajapakse plans and organises the army to defeat the terrorists who are endeavouring destroy our country and in the process cause immense hardship to people.

If there are allegations to be brought against any member of the President Rajapakse’s family the correct thing to do would be for Jhonston as a responsible person to produce documentary evidence against Mr.Gotabhaya Rajapakse first to Jhonston’s boss Ranil Wickramasinghe and through him to the President himself.

Jhonston Fernando is a member of the Parliament, therefore he should act according to a certain decorum, not resorting to vulgar tactics, making allegation to bring disrespect to the President Rajapakse and his family at meetings or market places. I am sure the President Rajapakse would like his brothers to be in safety elsewhere, instead their being here risking their lives to protect people like Jhonston and the rest of the people of Sri Lanka. As it is they are not only risking their lives but have become the centre of a mud slinging campaign by Jhonston Fernando and his UNP companions.

Shame on you Jhonston, and may the good people of Sri Lanka note you and remember to deprive you of access to Parliament in any future elections.
