20 terrorists killed, 11 injured in skirmishes at Wanni and Northern defencesMinistry of Defence, Public Security, Law & OrderDuring the last 24 hours ending from 6.p.m today (21), at least 20 terrorists were killed and 11 others wounded, defence sources report. Intense clashes between troops and LTTE have occurred along the Wanni and Northern fronts inflicting heavy losses to LTTE security sources said. Jaffna: During the confrontations no casualties were caused to own troops, security sources said. Earlier, on Tuesday (20) evening security forces recovered an improvised claymore mine during a search operation conducted at general area Muhamalai. Vavuniya: Similarly, intercepted LTTE communication has revealed that 02 terrorists were killed during clashes at general area north west of Mullikulam, on Tuesday 20th November. Meanwhile, security forces have removed 194 anti-personnel (AP) mines from general areas of Palamoddai and Vavuniya, military sources added. Today (21) at 12.45p.m, troops in NAVATHKULAM, effectively neutralized an LTTE offensive advance killing 01terrorist while forcing other terrorist elements to flee the area. No damages were caused to own troops during the skirmishes, security sources said. Earlier, on Wednesday (21) troops recovered 04 LTTE bodies along with 04 T-56 assault riffles following a pre-emptive strike at an LTTE bunker south of Mullikulam, defence sources reported. Mannar: Following effective military responses from troops, LTTE communication
has revealed the loss of 07 terrorists while 5 others were also believed
injured, security sources said.
