CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT vs JVP's BANKRUPTCY

JVP in the past was a Terrorist Organization, ran parallel with the
LTTE. They had Kangaroo Courts and killed many innocent people and Buddhist
monks, including Rev. Kotikawatte Saddhatissa Hamuduruwo. Mrs Srimavo
Banadaranaike killed the JVP movement, but JR provided oxygen later
on to JVP by releasing the JVP Terrorists from the Prison. Anura Bandaranike
back in government is great, one who will never tarnish his father's
name ( unlike his devious sister Chandrika) JVP's Leader left to a luxurious
apartment in London, gracefully forgiven for all sins by former President
Chandrika to come and live in SL.
JVP knows President Mahinda Rajapakse will declare the CFA null and
void at the appropriate time. JVP has said "if they sleep for an
half-hour the country would be sold to USA". JVP wants to show
the public that the President annulled the CFA, because of JVP pressure,
to claim credit for themselves( a clear sign of political bankruptcy).
Lets look at CFA signed by another Political bankrupt, Ranil Wickremasinghe:
According to the Preamble in the CFA, the overall objective was to
find a solution to the ongoing "ethnic conflict" in Sri Lanka.
This is outrageous, for Ranil Wickremasinghe as Prime Minister of GOSL
to accept that there is an ethnic conflict .It is abundantly clear Tamils
are living peacefully in SL with equal opportunities, with freedom of
expression and movement in any part of the island. It is Sinhala and
Muslims are deprived of these rights by Tamil Terriorists.. Therefore
the word "ethnic" ought to be deleted.
Article:4.1 : Ranil Wickremasighe's name is specifically mentioned
in the CFA for signing it on behalf of GOSL in his capacity as Prime
Minister, but identity of the person who signed it on behalf of LTTE
is not included.
Did our Prime Minister sign such an important document, without knowing
the name of the Second Party to the Contract/Agreement? Do you need
a Law Degree to know this simple requirement? For the new CFA, we need
to have not only the names of First and Second Parties but their verifiable
permanent addresses as well!
Article 1.3: GOSL committing itself to safeguard the sovereign and
territorial integrity of SL, "without engaging in offensive operations
against the LTTE". We need an amendment to the effect that the
LTTE providing a reciprocal guarantee not to engage in offensive operations
against the sovereign and territorial integrity of SL. If LTTE disagrees,
then Art. 1.3 should be deleted.
Art:2.12: GOSL committing itself not to carry out search operations
and arrests under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, and any such arrests
to be conducted under Criminal Code Procedure. If LTTE guarantees to
refrain from acts of terrorisms, why should they be concerned if actions
are taken under the Prevention of Terrorism Act? This article must be
deleted. But if the LTTE insist to retain it during future negotiations,
then GOSL may agree, providing LTTE agree to lay down and return its
arms immediately.
Art.3.3: Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission reporting to the Royal Norwegian
Government is not acceptable and should be deleted. Instead a new Monitoring
Mission be set up consisting permanent members of USA, UK, Australia,
India., China and Russia , headed by the USA.
BREACH OF CONTRACT
Most bizarre aspect of the CFA is the lack of punitive measures for
the breach of contract. The CFA is completely silent on this very basic
requirement, causing distress as to how a Prime Minister of Sri Lanka
with a Law Degree succumbed to this low level and sign the agreement.
If an Officer of a Practising Law Firm has committed such a blunder,
he or she would have been charged for professional negligence. Does
RW still wants to be President of SL, at some stage?
Until 31 Dec. 2005 there had been 3,633 CFA violations, of which 162
by GOSL and alarming 3471 by the LTTE.
1794 child recruitment by the LTTE at the top of the list of violations.
It is amazing, events relating to smuggling of arms by the LTTE are
not listed in the 3471 violations.
JVP will be totally eliminated at the next election. It will become
as same as LSSP, CP, irrelevant establishments in the political arena.
