Prof. Rohan Gunaratne is Right on IntelligenceProf. Hudson McLeanAs Winston Churchill said, during the WW2, "Know your enemy and half the battle is Won!" Forget the fancy hardware! Like everybody now witnessed in Anuradhapura on the 22nd October 2007, the Tigers made a monkey out of the SLDF. Where is the professional intelligence and professional military security protecting such an important air base? As I know the Eminent Prof. Rohan Gunaratne well in Singapore, I can categorically state that Rohan is a Sinhala patriot. He and his team at Nanyang University are intellectuals and high quality researchers. And Rohan has high integrity and is a responsible professional. And now Dr. Rohan has proven beyond any doubt that he was right. And so was Dr. Chailand. I am really sorry to see Dr. Chailand proven right in this case. My main question is, as I have asked before, "Why can't the SLAF locate the Tiger airstrips and take them out?" The answer is, "Lack of Intelligence". Just blanket bombardment is one solution. Do it now! And the LTTE has even published an audit of the damage their terrorists have done! Give a dose of their own medicine. Why did the choppers crash with four air force men? Typical Sri Lankan carelessness on maintenance and lack of discipline and supervision. Now the government plans to set up two probes to investigation into the events in Anuradhapura!! Its good to investigate and learn. But these are basic lessons in Military to be alert, diligent and innovative. What the government should do is to let the military wipe out without any mercy, the Wanniya jungles. The airstrips are definitely in Wanniya - Kilinochchi areas. The aircraft are hidden in underground bunkers, with banana plants temporarily planted on top. The SLAF should now retailiate without any mercy and destroy any and every possible location, strategic or not, within the areas controlled by LTTE. Forget the international "pressure" excuse. The international pressure has a short memory. Take a lesson from the American excursions into Afghanistan, Iraq, the Israelis. The world screamed. The paraents and relatives of the dead soldiers wept and protested. Time is a great healer. People great and small have poor memories. PS: The SL Navy should now watch out for Norwegian - NATO submarines who might whisk out the LTTE leadership out of Wanniya. There is speculation that the top ten of the LTTE Leadership have planned to scoot-out of Sri Lanka by boat and submarine. They will leave the poor LTTE fighters behind to take the wrong end of the stick, whilst the Top Brass enjoy the hundreds of millions of dollars stacked in various bank accounts. Charles Anthony Prabhakaran has several bank accounts in the Channel Islands, Barbados, Leichtentine and Dubai, with close to one hundred million dollars. He would leave last, after Velupillai Prabhakaran has safely gone into Norway. And of course TamilSilva will be running his Press Office from Oslo or Bergen, whilst running his own investments. Perhaps, SLDF could visit Singapore and get some advance information
and advice from Prof. Rohan Gunaratne!
