Dear Prime Minister:

The *TamilNet,* the voice of the Tamil Tigers, the most ruthless terrorist group in the world who perfected the art of suicide bombing, reported that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarian, Mr.
Eelaventhan who supports the Tamil Tiger separatist cause, had met with you in the early part of November in Toronto, to lobby for your and your party’s support for the Tamil Tiger separatist cause in Sri Lanka.

This may be the beginning of a high profile lobbying of the Conservative government by the Tamil Tiger sympathizers and will continue to happen hard and fast, knowing that there is every chance that the Conservatives will form the next government, perhaps with a majority. I also suspect that some cracks might open up among the Red-Tories, to support the Tamil Tiger separatist cause with the hope that they could siphon the Tamil votes from the Liberals, in the Greater Toronto Area. It makes sense for the Tamil Tiger sympathizers to shift their allegiance from the opposition Liberal Party to the ruling Conservatives as the power lies with you and your party to get things done in favour of the Tamil Tigers. As we all know that the innate philosophy among politicians of every stripe is that, ‘You scratch my back and I will scratch yours, and to hell with the principles of good governance as long as I get your vote’.

*Whilst* pointing out to you that the Liberal Party sold Canada’s body and soul to the Tamil racist, separatist cause as they depended on the Tamil votes to send 10 Liberals to parliament from ridings in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and this was translated eloquently into words by the late S.P. Thamilselvan, the leader of the political wing of the Tamil Tigers when he conferred the dubious honour on Canada by telling Prime Minister Paul Martin in January 2005, that “Canada is our best ally”. That was quite an apt recognition as after all the Liberal government sent our High Commissioners to the Tamil Tiger Headquarters at Killinochchi to do their little song and Canadian Jig and pay their hosannas to these terrorist assassins, as an act of promoting peace.
These embarrassing visits did nothing to the war psychosis as the hemorrhaging of the island at the hands of the Tamil Tigers went on unabated.

*Whilst *the Liberal MPs Jim Karygiannis (Scarborough-Agincourt) and Maria Minna (Beaches-East York) acted as the Pied Pipers leading other Liberal parliamentarians like Mark Holland (Ajax-Pickering), Yasmin Ratansi (Don Valley East), Derek Lee (Scarborough RougeRiver), Borys Wrzesnewskyj (Etobicoke Center), John Cannis (Scarborough Centre), John McKay (Scarborough-Guildwood) and Lui Temelkovski (Oak Ridges-Markham) down the garden path in Markham and stood in vigil like a group of pathetic lemmings together with ten thousand Tamils for Tamil Tiger S.P.
Thamilchelvan who was killed by a bomb dropped by the Government Air Force. Each one of these Liberal MPs praised Thamilchelvan as the ‘Dove of Peace’, when in reality he was a cyanide-necklaced terrorist in military fatigues, the killer of the innocent unarmed Sinhalese and Muslims and an assassin;

*Whilst* the Liberal Cabinet Ministers Paul Martin (Finance) and Maria Minna (CIDA) together with backbenchers Jim Karygiannis (Scarborough-Agincourt), Roy Cullen (Etobicoke North), and Bryon Wilfert (Richmond Hill) attended the $60-a-plate fund raising dinner for the Tamil Tiger terrorists on May 6, 2000, organized by the Federation of Associations of Canadian Tamils (FACT) the front organization for the Tamil Tigers in Canada;

* Whilst* the Liberal Finance Minister Paul Martin accused Canadian Alliance MPs Stockwell Day and Ted White as “racists” in parliament when questioned about him attending the fund raising dinner for the Tamil Tiger terrorists organized by FACT;

*Whilst* investigators traced the explosives that brought down the Central Bank Building in Colombo on January 31, 1996, killing 86 and maiming 1338 people, and bombing the historic Temple of the Buddha’s Tooth in Kandy on January 25, 1998, killing 12 and injuring 13 others, to a 60-tonne shipment of TNT and RDX bought by Tamil Tigers posing as the Bangladesh Army from the Rubezhone Chemical Plant in the Ukraine and paid 7.5 million Canadian dollars from a bank account of a Canadian Tamil;

*Whilst *Liberal* *Anne McLellan ( Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness)) was cornered like a fox hunted by a hound when Conservative Senator Lynch-Staunton during the Special Committee Meeting on Anti- Terrorism on February 14, 2004, asked why the Tamil Tigers were not banned as a terrorist group by her Liberal Party when most of the western countries had done so, she reacted like a child caught lobster-red faced not having done her homework and fumbled for reasons why;

*Whilst *Liberal Justice Minister Irwin Cotler in 2005 when meeting the National Post Editorial Board admitted that it was local politics that stopped them banning the Tamil Tigers;

*Whilst *one-third of the Tamil Tiger war-chest was stuffed with Canadian dollars during the Liberal reign of 13 years, at the rate of 2 million dollars a month, and as a direct consequence all of us Canadians have Sri Lankan blood caked on our hands having helped the Tamil Tigers to purchase sophisticated weapons of war and ammunition to kill the unarmed innocents, for the want of their separate, racist state, Eelam;

*Whilst *all the above unprincipled selfish activities by the Liberal Party for the want of 100,000 Tamil votes and is party to 70,000 deaths in the Tamil separatists’ war in Sri Lanka sickens my stomach,

* I sincerely hope that You and your Conservative Party will not allow to be taken for a ride by the Tamil Tiger Canadian sympathizers, but however, in the unfortunate event that the Conservatives manifest cracks in your principled policy on terrorism for wanting to win the Tamil votes that you all will consider the following on Sri Lanka:*

*That* the Tamils in Sri Lanka as a minority have been treated with great respect compared to the minorities in Malaysia with their Bhumiputra policy;

*That *the minority Tamils in Sri Lanka (3.9% World Watch statistics
Jan.2007) could own any square inch of land in every nook and corner of Sri Lanka, but not the majority Sinhalese (75%) when they are barred to own even one square inch of land in the northern Jaffna peninsula, *and you may wonder why they complain that they are being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate, mythical state Eelam?; *

*That* the minority Tamils own prime real estate in the capital Colombo, and 75 % of the real estate in Wellawatte, a suburb of Colombo, which is comparable to Rothwell Heights in Ottawa, *and you may wonder why they complain that they are being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate, mythical state Eelam?*

* That* 54% of the minority Tamil population lives in the south amongst the majority Sinhalese, inter-marrying, sharing the same plate of rice with the Sinhalese and enjoying all the privileges that the other ethnic communities enjoy, *and you may wonder why they complain that they are being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate, mythical state Eelam? *

*That *the minority Tamils have the Northern Jaffna University exclusively for the Tamil students and not allow a single Sinhalese student to study in this campus whilst their children walk the portals of all other universities in the south intermingling with students of the majority Sinhalese and other minority communities without being harassed by as much as a solitary ‘Boo’, *and you may wonder why they complain that they are being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate mythical state, Eelam?*

* That* the minority Tamils when they decided to buy plane tickets after the July 1983 riots to fan out to the western world by-passing their Mother India where 61 million of them live in Tamil Nadu which is separated by a swath of salt water 18 miles wide, and land on the shores of Canada saying that they are refugees, and yet everyone of them return home for their holidays after receiving their immigration papers, thus leaving the question wide open as to whether they were really ‘convention refugees’ or ‘economic refugees’ and had cheated their way into Canada, *and you may wonder why they complain that they were being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate mythical state, Eelam?*

* That* the request by the Tamil parliamentarian Eelaventhan for you as the Prime Minister of Canada to exert political and moral pressure on the Sri Lankan government to offer the Canadian Constitution as a model for talks between the Tamil Tigers and the Sri Lankan Government should be considered as a red herring. Ask Bob Rae who has gone to Sri Lanka several times as the representative of the Forum of Federations to inculcate the Government and Tamil Tigers of the virtues of federalism and found that the word ‘federalism’ was an “F” word in the Tamil Tiger lexicon and wanted nothing to do with it, while the Sri Lankan government showed flexibility to discuss any Constitutional model to bring peace to the island nation, *and you may wonder why they complain that they are being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate mythical state, Eelam?*

* That *the Ceasefire Agreement signed in February 2002 by the Tamil Tigers and the Sri Lankan Government facilitated by the Norwegians was, by the end of 2005 violated over 7000 times by the Tamil Tigers compared to just over 200 violations by the armed forces.

The Tamil Tigers had their motive to hoodwink every international peacenick, including Canada, and cleverly exploited the ceasefire to forcibly recruit child soldiers, according to the then President of Sri Lanka smuggled in eleven ship loads of arms and ammunition, engaged in the killings of government intelligence agents and members of rival Tamil groups. *You, no doubt may wonder why the Tamils complain that they are being discriminated by the majority Sinhalese and kill innocents for the want of their separate mythical state Eelam? *And finally

*That *you will be barking up at the wrong gum tree if your diplomacy will direct your call for peace talks between the two protagonists with the stress on the Sri Lankan government being the bad boy in this game of war strategy. The government of Sri Lanka has shown their willingness to sit with the Tamil Tigers to talk peace traveling around the world, but it were the Tamil Tigers to reduced these meetings to Gong-Shows embarrassing the facilitator, the Norwegians time and time again..

The last act of this ‘Around-the-World-Circus of the Peace Talks’ saga happened on June 8, 2006, when the scheduled peace talks in Oslo were canceled when the Tamil Tigers refused to meet directly with the Government delegation claiming its fighters were not been allowed safe passage to travel to talks. Norwegian mediator Eric Solheim told journalists that the Tamil Tigers should take direct responsibility for the collapse of the talks. But the Government was willing to sit down for talks, any time, any where. Such is this unfortunate saga trying to understand and heal the wounds of this ethnic conflict, to stop the hemorrhaging of Sri Lanka and dissecting this puny island into two.

Mr. Eelavanthan may have spun yarns around you during that meeting in Toronto the way that the Tamil Tiger sympathizers have done successfully for years around the foolish Liberal parliamentarians. But with the backgrounder that I have displayed, I sincerely hope the Conservatives have more wisdom in this matter than the Liberals, and would question *why do the Tamils complain that they have been discriminated and claim the right to kill innocent Sinhalese and Muslims with impunity for the want of their separate, racist state, Eelam? What is indeed their problem?*

*I request you as a card carrying Conservative not to sponge yourselves as a bunch of bleeding hearts and go after the Tamil votes promising your support for their separate, racist state Eelam, as all those votes are laced with lies, and haunted with dying pleas of the innocent Sinhalese farmer families and fisherfolk of “Please don’t kill me”
before triggers of Kalashnikovs were pulled at close range for bullets to penetrate their hearts, or before machetes came down to split their skulls soaking the earth with their blood. That is the hard reality at Ground Zero in the North and East of Sri Lanka.*
