At Last A Ray Of Light Shining On The ParadiseJELARD OWENS from Iowa, USA.At long last, with proper leadership from a REAL LEADER and with the help of undeterred heroic sacrifices made by the simple, unassuming yet always willing to fight (for a just cause) soldiers of Sri Lanka's forces, led by proper hands on field commanders, especially with the untiring planning of General Fonseka, the Paradise is relentlessly fighting back against all odds to survive and to give its peace loving people with a great heritage their dignity and the country's due place in the world. Sri Lanka celebrates 58 years after it was granted independence from the British colonial rule and from day one, the country went downhill due to mismanagement and due to corrupt leaders. Finally, it has become quite difficult to find even an uncorrupt office messenger boy. The leaders of the Paradise have mastered the art (curse) of corruption so well and get away so well, the innocent and the helpless are being fleeced by the very same who are to lead them. In fact the ruthlessness of the state of corruption in Sri Lanka is almost as senseless and ruthless as Fat Prabha's terrorist attacks on the peace-loving people of Paradise. One might ask me what right do I have, as a foreigner, especially an American (who the rest of the world consider to be arrogant and uncaring towards the people on this planet), to talk about Sri Lanka and its problems. I sincerely care, after being married to a Sri Lankan lady for more than half my life, after having brought up two children who we are proud of and have become very useful citizens, after learning the basics and after becoming a practicing Buddhist, the Paradise has been our (my wife and I) favourite place of habitation. Mr. President, I was rather skeptical at first after you came to power, then it was with pain I read Fat Prabha's ultimatum (in 2005) to you and to the peace-loving people of Sri Lanka. But surely and steadily you rose to the occasion. Gradually you built up and gained the confidence of the people of Sri Lanka and the admiration of those of us who closely watch Sri Lanka. I am sure you surprised even those who want the LTTE to capture almost half the land mass and the coast line of this beautiful country including some corrupt NGO's, past leaders of Sri Lanka (RW, CBK and their close henchman included) and the biased Norwegians (lead by Solheim) who formulated the crooked CFA to hand over in a silver platter, prime land of Sri Lanka to a bunch of ruthless killers. You are on the right track Sir! First the East, then the North. Sri Lanka, even though very small in land mass compared to its neighbors has the potential to be at par with countries such as Japan, Korea or Malaysia. The US and rest of the countries in the world who see the LTTE for what they really are, will help you to fight and exterminate these terrorist parasites from Sri Lanka but Sir, you'll have to start a countrywide campaign that will wipe out the even bigger and inhuman curse of bribery and corruption from the Paradise. You know bribery is inhuman, ugly and one feels violated and gets frustrated and angry, when one has to bribe someone to induce that person to simply do his job. Lastly, you do not need a bunch of losers (Ranil's henchmen) to join you to govern Sri Lanka. You have very efficient deputies in Mangala Samaraweera, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Palitha Kohona and Cabraal to name a few. We offer our unconditional support to you and to the people of Sri Lanka. |
