MANGALA HINTS EXISTANCE OF
A UNP-TERRORIST NEXUS TO TOPPLE THE GOVERNMENT. A.A.M.NIZAM, MATARA.
The third artificial show of the Ranil-Mangala union held at Anuradhapura last Friday too has been unsuccessful despite much publicity and expectations. Those carefully observed the crowd shown through TV channels would have surprisingly and amusingly noticed the same faces shouting slogans and marching in all the three meetings and they would appear at the next show at Nittambuwa too unless the TV channels sponsoring the series of these shows get some new comedians to appear. Imported crowd for a meeting does not give the right measure of support for any party or group has in that particular area as it was rightly demonstrated at the last such show held in Matara. The right measure can be given only by the attendance of a home crowd and not by an imported crowd. The only plus point of the Anuradhapura meeting had been the hint given by Mr. Mangala Samaraweera on the existence of a Junk-UNP Terrorist nexus to topple the government.
As it is widely believed that truth cannot be kept hidden for a long time and it would somehow come out soon, Mr. Mangala Samaraweera, perhaps due to desperation on the failure of being unable to demonstrate any significant political change because of his cross-over has appealed to Janata Vimukthi Peramuna to join them to topple the government.
When he was expelled from the government he is reported to have claimed that there are 22 SLFP Parliamentarians ready to back him against the President. Probably believing in this over self-estimation of Mr. Samaraweera that his minion Sripathy Suriathchi addressing the meeting held in Matara immediately after their expulsion claimed that in the next meeting they will hold in Matara peope would see Mr. Samaraweera as the Prime Minister of the country. If he happened to attend the Matara meeting without holidaying overseas with his family (within a few days after his father’s demise) the courageous people of Matara (not those who are grown up in overseas) would have questioned him as to what happened to his promise of Mr. Mangala Samaraweera’s Prime Ministership.
Mr. Samaraweera’s address at the Anuradhapura meeting has been mainly focused on appealing to the Janata Vimukthi Peramuna to join them and ridiculing the current programmes of that Party. He calls on them not to go on useless processions, not to spend on posters, and not to talk on various other things. He says that if their 38 members join with them they would have 107 members and he will then give the 6 shortfall members needed to topple the government. He said “if the JVP supports us tomorrow I will give the balance 6 members and topple the Rajapakse government the next day”.
The crux of this speech however has very serious repercussions. It shows already there is an agreement with the 22 terrorist proxy MPs of the TNA for toppling the government and Mr. Samaraweera has been given the contract to persuade the JVP en-bloc by whatever the means in this task.
Only the terrorists and the foreign slavish NGO gangs, anglophiles, urbanites, and western cultured reactionary gangs desire and support for the toppling this government. The patriotic and rural masses consisting over 70% of the population despite hardships in their day to day life support this government for two reasons. Foremost being its real commitment to eliminate the terrorists who devastated this nation for the last thirty years and other being the enormous development work being undertaken in rural areas to open up avenues for their posterity to live in their own areas with dignity and without migrating to embrace the vulgar culture ruining the cities.
As such the attempt being made to topple the government by undemocratic means and undoubtedly with the power of terrorist and black-money funding should not be viewed lightly. As it is known to all Sri Lankans the power-hungry modern Don Juan will discard anyone and anything for him to achieve power. Keeping mum when Balasingham said publicly that Prabhakaran is the President and Prime Minister of North and East and Ranil Wickremasinghe is only Prime Minister of the rest of Sri Lanka, having a midnight meeting with ex-President Chandrika and promising to join the government with 40 members if she agrees to appoint him as Prime Minister are some examples.
His close links with an erstwhile enemy who does not have any political backing other than one MP (that too is becoming doubtful because of his non participation at both Matara and Anuradhapura meetings) earning the umbrage from many traditional patriotic UNPers, and holding bondage with only the pro-alien gang in the junk-UNP (Ravis, Rosys,Michaels, Johns and Jonnies) , and willingness to drop the cherished party name and the symbol that were not compromised in any of the previous coalitions, have ample reason to believe there is a strong and powerful conspiracy to topple the government.
The arrival of the ex-President Chandrika (being called by the people as Konde Nisa Nice due to her attempt to imitate Condelisa Rice and gain cheap popularity) is not accidental and could certainly be part of this grand conspiracy. It is reported that she had personally traveled to Anuradhapura and made an unsuccessful attempt to persuade the Anuradhapura District SLFP Organisor Mr. Wasantha Senanayake (a great grand nephew of late Prime Minister D.S.Senanahyake) to join Ranil-Mangala union in a desperate attempt to boost the Anuradhapura show. She had also reported to have had a long discussion with CWC leader Thondaman. There could be more clandestine attempts by this Rajapakse-envious political extravagant to play her assigned role in this grand conspiracy before the expected next show at Nittambuwa.
Toppling this government at the present juncture is a halt to military operations against the terrorist who devastated this nation for the last three decades and allow them to strengthen themselves once again. As the terrorists have made it quite clear that they will not agree to anything less than Eelam in North and East toppling this government is creating the environment to return the liberated East and grant Eelam negating the sacrifices made by our gallant soldiers. As this is not the aspirations of the masses that elected this government to power, the conspiracy to topple the government should be defeated forthwith as it was admiringly done by the late Prime Minister Mrs. Sirimavo Bandaranaike in 1962.
Also the SLFP should pass resolutions in all levels of party apparatus, to forbid the Model’s Wing using the Party Colour and the precious Party Name in the treacherous bid to mislead the masses and topple the government. |
