Vigilance and being prepared are the essential principles in this uncertain times.

We always regret when the worst has happened. It is a pity we cannot fore see the future and take preventive action. After the terrorist have performed a daring act of terror, we will speak of security lapses. The International Airport of Sri Lanka had been attacked by the terrorist. We knew that the hangers of the Air force where they have the Kfir planes are a likely place for a terrorist attack. The terrorists came in slow moving light aircrafts and bombed their preferred target and flew back slowly to Wanni without any mishap. The radars had detected two unidentified moving objects yet the terrorists daringly ventured unchecked into the Air space above the Sri Lanka Air ports and bombed.

The Security Forces are carrying out a marvellous job in the North and East but that does not mitigate the responsibility of the government and the Security forces to safeguard the Air Ports of Sri Lanka. They should surely have anti aircraft guns around the place to keep away any enemy plane hovering above the place. What was the security forces doing and that is a serious matter that should be investigated and corrective steps taken to safe guard the Air ports, the harbours, Radio and Television Stations, Army Camps and Head Quarters, City of Colombo , Anuradhapura, Kandy, Galle, and Trincomalee.

One has to be vigilant as the terrorists are still capable of taking risks and spread terror in the least expected areas. It is not the democratic peace loving International Community who will help us to protect our country and therefore it is time that all peace loving people of the country without distinction of political interests, religious beliefs, or communal differences rally round the government to rid ourselves of the terrorist menace.
