PLANS AFOOT TO REMERGE NORTH AND EAST AND INSTALL A TERRORIST SERVILE PUPPET IN THE EAST.

– Part I

After a lapse of 20 years people in the Eastern Province will go for election on 10th May for electing 37 members for the new Provincial Council. It has become a crucial election in the Sri Lankan history as there are apparent signs of forces enmical to Sri Lanka being converged and joined together to defeat the democratic aspirations of the masses, reverse the great sacrifices made by our security forces to liberate the province, and return the province to become a vassal of the terrorist outfit and the neo-colonialist elements by plunging it into the rule of racist fascist elements. These terrorist and foreign goondas have forced the United National Party to enter the fray despite that it boycotted the local government election held in March on flimsy grounds, and strongly protested on the validity of that election. This forced entry however, is a welcome sign that would enhance the authenticity of the election and allay the prospect of misrepresenting the election to defame and deride the country in the international arena, a favourite pastime of the treacherous UNP leader.

The United National Party, especially under the current leadership has a long record of being aloof to the sufferings and problems of the Eastern Province masses and conveniently throwing them into jaws of the terrorists and making their life insecure, miserable and hazardous. The election has become a decisive factor to resolve whether the Eastern Province should consolidate its liberation by our gallant forces and progress under the massive development programmes underway or return to the dark chapter of hazardous status it existed under the jackboots of the ruthless terrorists, prior to its liberation.

The UNP, which has deteriorated to a shameful status under the alienophile current leadership entered the election fray only after it had a clandestine meeting with a group of terrorist proxy TNA MPs in India, and not based on the will of the party members or its working committee. Further, a delegation led by TNA Parliamentary group leader Mr. Sambanthan had another meeting with the UNP leader at his residence in Colombo last week to map out the election arrangements and strategies to be adopted. The topics discussed and decisions arrived at these two meetings have not been disclosed and remain a secret yet.

Political analysts who are privy to some participants of these meetings, however, have revealed that the decisions taken include remerger of the Northern and Eastern Provinces and allowing unlimited access to the terrorists to the Eastern Province territories with total impunity similar to the access given to them under the ignominous CFA to roam throughout the country and murder anyone, anywhere at its will.

UNP regimes had always been terrorist friendly and had given the terrorists total freedom to subjugate the masses, particularly the Eastern Province masses inflicting murder, mayhem and subjection to horrendous extortions and abductions. It was the impunity provided by the UNP regimes that the terrorists carried out the worst ever brutal massacres of innocent masses including women and children, religious dignitaries, and security forces in the East. A list of brutal murders carried out by the terrorists in the three districts of Amparai, Batticaloa and Trincomalee by hacking, slitting the necks and shooting of innocent masses of all the three communities, including women, children and religious dignitaries in collaboration with the UNP or UNP remaining totally aloof to the crimes committed until the advent of the PA government will be presented with Part II of this article.

During the time Mr. Ranil Wickremasinge’s government was in power in 2001-2003, the Eastern Province was virtually a territory alien to Sri Lankan sovereignty. Having signed the reprehensible CFA the government willingly relinquished authority in a vast territory of the Eastern Province pitching the life and property of the people to terrorist domination.

There was no government authority in these areas although the governmet bore the service and administration costs. The government shamelessly bowed to terrorist demands and dismantled security camps throughout the Eastern Province and exposed the masses to the dictates and the rule of the terrorist outfit. All goods entering and exiting from these areas were subjected to a tax of 5 – 35% based on the values decided by the terrorists. Vehicles as well as people were subjected to entry/exit taxes. On top of this people were abducted and subjected to hideous ransom demands. Even the government shamelessly paid the taxes demanded by the terrorists. This taxation prevailed until the liberation of the areas by our heroic security forces. Ranil Wickremasinghe’s shameless government could not hold any government function without the approval of the terrorists and several government functions were cancelled due to the non-authorisation by the terrorists, and whatever that was allowed was held only under the terrorist ensign.
