SRI LANKA ON THE WAY TO PROSPERITYShripal Nishshanka (Middle Bond)Amidst all the chaos and calamities, finally Sri Lanka has begun its
march towards the prosperity. Today Sri Lanka has found a leader who
is committed to bring the honour and the recognition back to the country
which was destroyed by series of former leaders. Starting from JRJ regime, Sri Lanka not only faced the threat for its
sovereignty but also lost the revenues from all avenues. Uncontrolled
implementations of disastrous programs such as Open Economy diminished
the production capabilities of Sri Lankan industries and agricultural
development and shown almost the dead end. Nil or negligible efforts
were launched to protect the national development but an uncontrolled
westernized system was introduced by bargaining all the cultural, social
and economical values. The national budget deficit expanded daily at
an alarming rate. The national harmony was destroyed as the commander
of the armed forces, the executive president could not control the country
thus paving the ways to communal troubles and atrocities. Country wide
unrest was seen and for the first time in Sri Lankan history, insurgents
could control the whole country by a mere chit or a threat. Although the inflation was controlled by Ranasinghe Premadasa (RP) and his government to a certain extend, he was on a wrong track to bridge the trust between the Sinhalese and Tamils which was destroyed during the previous regime. RP was accurate when he accused Indira Gandhi of plotting with Tamils to bring terrorism to Sri Lanka, even though JRJ, Gamini D and Lalith M blamed him. Being the Minister of National Security, Lalith M had no sharp intelligence whatsoever but believed Indira's advices thus allowing the terrorism worse. RP did the worst by providing arms to the terrorists to fight IPKF and almost all the arms were used against the SLDF like a boomerang. Ultimately he had to pay the price by sacrificing his life. Chandrika K came into the power with a hidden agreement with the terrorists
and neither her plans were successful nor Sri Lanka got any solace during
her period. She was honestly treating the terrorists in a proper way
for sometime before she was given the dead rope by the UK indicating
that she will be nominated for the Nobel Peace award, if she allows
the terrorists demands. What a joke was that and her addictions to alcohol,
other bad habits and greediness of money and wealth indulged with corruption
made her administration period a complete destruction to the country. The short period which Ranil W elected as the Premier was the best
honeymoon period fro the terrorists. They enjoyed all the government
facilities and ingeniously penetrated the government top secret divisions
and obtained all valuable information including highly classified dossiers.
They became stronger than never and built up a world wide recognition
mostly through Ranil. Today all Sri Lankans and peace loving people shall get together and
help President Rajapaksha in his noble endeavour of liberating the country
from terrorism. Then the true development of the country can be significantly
improved. The current effort of country wide development is truly impressive. The JHU and Karu with his team from UNP are doing an excellent job
keeping the support to the government and the nation is indebted to
them. JVP also should strengthen the president's hand at this critical
time. Anyhow the true patriotic leaders do not except any portfolio or privilege
from the government to save the country. The national harmony should be improved and the pity party system shall
be abolished. May the honest and noble endeavours of the President Rajapaksha and
his government be highly successful! Long live Sri Lanka! May Triple Gem and All Good Guardian Deities Protect Brave Sri Lankan
Armed Forces and Security Personnel! |
