General Fonseka Please don't Make the Same Mistake President Bush DidAuthor: Kithsiri Athulathmudali, Florida, USARemember the saying, "It is not over until the fat lady sings." I suggest the choice of words should have been; "It is the beginning of the end for LTTE", rather than saying, it is the tail end of the war. This war is far from over. I am not a fortune teller, clairvoyanist or a military annalist, but a person who herd it at the street corner. So I will present it as heard at the street corner. The army you defeated in Eastern Province is the India's Territorial Army. This is difficult to sallow but it is true. India will not take this defeat laying down. They will create a situation when you get close to Killinochchi, to stop your advance. The uproar will be internally and externally to Sri Lanka. This will take the same model Indira Gandhi created. Externally, to capture Northern and Eastern Provinces by Tamil terrorists and internally JVP to attack police stations. In the press release, General Fonseka mentioned that Prebhakeran wanted to rule not only the Northern and Eastern provinces, but eventually to rule whole of Sri Lanka. This is nothing new it was Jawahal Lal Nehru who wanted Tamil Nardu Tamils to rule Sri Lanka. It is wrong for editorial writers and free lance commentators to suggest that this conflict started at the time of Indira Gandhi. If they probe deeper they will find out who wanted Ceylon to be an Indian protectorate. Jawahal Lal Nehru was far more ruthless than the daughter Indira. Jawahal Lal Nehru came to then Ceylon in 1939 and created a Ceylon Indian Congress (CIC) and drafted a constitution that will have Sri Lanka, then Ceylon, as a protectorate of India. As a cover-up he told the affluent politicians (who were mainly Tamils at that time); that this document will help Ceylon get independence. At that time no one took much notice of it because at that time, Jawahal Lal Nehru was a nobody. I do not have access to this document, but it clearly stated that Ceylon MUST be a protectorate of India and MUST be administered by Tamils from Tamil Nard. Same phenomenon is applicable to what Jajalalitha did today, by filing a law suit in the Indian Supreme Court. Jayalalitha Enters The Fray Let's say hypothetically, General Fonseka wiped out the Tamil terrorist
from the main land including the jungles. Then, keeps a permanent Naval
presence on Katchativu Island.
Another example of India not allowing Killinochchi to be captured is as follows: Jayalalitha has filled action in Indian Supreme Court forcing India to take the Island Katchativu and occupy it force fully using the Indian Navy. The poll taken few weeks ago by Tamil Nard news paper Ananda Vikatan showed that 89% of Tamils in Tamil Nard wants India to capture Katchativu Island and hand over the administration to Tamil Nard government. This must not be taken lightly like the way Dr. Palitha Kohona took. He brushed off any serious consequences arising form the action Jayalalitha took. If Jayalalitha wins the case, then the following set of events will take place: 1. Indian amendment ( 13th amendment) to the Sri Lanka constitution
will be implemented. Many readers will not concur with the presented scenario but there is a strong probability, if Jayalalitha wins the case, it could happen. AT least for now, a sign post should be erected, on the Katchativu Island with the following written in Tamil: YOU ARE ENTERING SRI LANKAN TREETORY. THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY POINT FOR SRI LANKA. IF YOU ENTER SRI LANKAN TERRTORY AT THIS LOCATION YOU WILL BE ARRESTED AND PROSECUTED. This sign post should have each Tamil letter two foot high. I hope Dr. Palitha Kohona will get a chance to read my suggestion and change his thought process to reflect the gravity of Jayalalitha's court filing. This sign post I suggested should be photographed with a Navy personal holding the Sri Lanka flag. Then the photograph should be released to the Sri Lanka and international media to be published.
