LTTE SPONSORED LECTURES CANCELLED IN LONDON AFTER SPEAKER IS REFUSED VISA TO ENTER THE UNITED KINGDOMBy Rangajeeva RajakarunaLTTE circles in London had to cancel a series of lectures they paid
for in three places in London when the speaker they hired, retired Colonel
R. Hariharan, was refused a visa to enter the United kingdom by New
Delhis UK High Commission. We have postponed the lectures; please leave your email address
so that we could inform you the new date he is coming to London to deliver
the lectures , said a spokesman of the Tamil Information Centre
when callers inquired about the Hariharan lectures. At the three lectures organized by Ravi Sundadaralingam and Velupillai
Kuhenendran, LTTE circles wanted to deeply discuss about Indias
role on Sri Lankan conflict at present, insiders of the LTTE in London
said. The first lecture was to be held at the Hall of Academy of Arts and
Sciences of the London University on January 12 and the second lecture
was to be held, January 13 at the Tamil Information Centre at Kensington. The third discussion was scheduled to be held at an undisclosed LTTE
friends house in East London. Retired Colonel R. Hariharan, who is currently working as a South Asian
Affairs analyst is classified as a counter insurgency expert and was
a commander of the Indian Peace Keeping Forces, who lost a war with
the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). He served the IPKF as an
intelligence officer. The Tamil Tigers who lost all their links with India at an official
level after Prabhakaran and his intelligence chief Pottuamman allegedly
conspired to kill Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi is now anxious
to go back to its former relations with Sri Lankas giant neighbour.
In fact, the Tamil Tigers were initially trained, funded and armed by
RAW, Indias equivalent of the CIA in Indian Army camps. LTTE insiders in London said they could learn from Hariharan, how to
plan their strategy in the future, in order to launch an ambitious plan,
to win back India to their fold like in the past before they fell from
grace. |
