ROLAND TO THE RESCUEBy Apino Dannachess Maryland USAOnce again Roland Burk of BBC (Blind Biasedcasting Corporation) is at it. Now that the so called fearless Tigers are on the run, their hierarchy reduced to being tunnel rats and having no newsworthy heroic action to report on, Roland Burk was creative in giving the LTTE much needed airtime in the form a recorded telephone interview with its political wing leader B. Nadesan discussing the abrogation of the ceasefire agreement.
To mislead the international community, the whole interview was filled with carefully worded questions from Roland Burk and blatant lies as answers from Nadesan. When questioned on 6000 odd ceasefire violations by the LTTE, Nadesan was quick to say that all such reports are false and if at all they were minor incidents. Here the BBC reporter carefully avoided raising issues such as the killing of Minister Kadiragama and civilian bus bombings leaving one to wonder how Nadesan would have explained them as minor incidents. Such BBC sponsored propaganda is sure to motivate the World Tamil Diaspora to contribute more to LTTE's bloody cause.
Roland Burk's lopsided news reportage may fool few Britons stuck in colonial times, but if BBC thinks we still say "God Save The Queen", they are sadly mistaken.
