We applaud, Mr. Rukman Senanayake, a patriotic leader emerging from the UNP.By Charles.S.Perera
Here at last a patriotic leader from the UNP, speaks out the stand of the good old political party.
It is no surprise such words extending unconditional support to the government in its endeavor to eliminate terrorism come from non other than Rukman Senanayake. UNP's large vote base , on which the UNP stands to day is largely due to the generations of people at the grass root level who bear unflinching respect to the Senanayaka Family.
The words of Mr. Rukman Senanayake is very encouraging and all Sri Lankans whether they are the supporters of the UNP or not, will be grateful to Mr.Senanayake for his courage to support the government and its Armed Forces in this hour of need.
Mr.Rukman Senanayake has given an example for all patriots, all those who love their motherland to bury all political and personal differences to rally round the government when thousands in the armed force are facing the ruthless terrorists who would stop at nothing to save their wretched skins.
Mr. Rukman Senanayake has made an unambiguous statement to the SLBC condemning the terrorists, and comes out clean against the terrorists for the assassination of the Late General Janaka Perera.
His statement takes a greater importance, when the failed politicians of the UNP joined with the terrorist proxi party TNA to cast aspersions against President Mahinda Rajapakse and his government, making shameless allegations of government involvement in the assassination of the late General Janaka Perera.
Thank you Mr.Ruman Senanayake. May the eyes of the supporters of the UNP be opened by your act, for them to see clearly as to who should lead the UNP. Just now the UNP is like a ship afloat in a troubled sea without a Commander
