"How Sri Lanka, a victim of the colonial rape turned out to be a whore?"

The difference between Dayan and some compradors in our foreign office.

Let us imagine this theatrical event for a moment, "How can we conceive a scenario where a victim of a rape just a moment ago becomes a whore in the next moment?" Is it possible? I would say yes! A victim of a rape can become a whore at the very moment she shifts her position of seeing the rape scenario from the view point of resisting victim to an apologetic passive; in a worst case scenario, by apologizing the rapist. This is exactly what SL H/C in London did in regard to Dr.Dayan Jayathilake's media article responding to the British foreign secretary's inappropriate Independence Day message to Sri Lanka. It is pretty obvious that Dayan responded in the media as a private citizen of Sri Lanka; but unfortunately Mrs. Kshenuka Seneviratne apologized to British Foreign Secretary as the H/C representing Sri Lanka. However she has reveled that her action is voluntary. Nevertheless, had our Foreign Service office in Colombo taken proper measures to tackle the issue of this improper message of British foreign secretary that had been published in the media at first place, Dayan wouldn't have had to write this article to media either?

Anyway, how long can we live in this passive apologetic life with all this 'ever growing diplomatic aggressions' of the west towards us? Can we handle current international affairs relating to Sri Lankan question in such submissive approach? Former colonial master wants us to be in such compliance. That is what colonialism is all about; colonialism transforms and reduces the colonized into a meek, passive, obedient and subservient position. Despite the fact that the colony had been repeatedly raped by colonizer in every sphere of its life, colonialism will make sure to have colonized to think and act like a whore. Moreover, colonialism makes the colonized to be a pathetic apologetic rather than a noble resistant. Dayan's denial to be submissive is the crack splitting him from some of spineless, gutless "Ranilists clans" in our foreign service. Dayan is not a "Ranil-a Kulye" intellectual (if you put it in botanical terms) bending like a "bean vine" before the prejudice 'western trade wind.' That is why his actions are different and stand above that of others.

We were stunned to know about this irrelevant apology from unexpected quarter, namely our H/C in London. She must have been operating camouflaged in all these years in the London office (otherwise we must have heard about her actions), without doing anything substantial for the country. But this time at the end of her tenure she crashed into the scene from rear end taking all Sri Lankans by surprise, again not to safeguard her country's interests, but to save England. If this action of appeasing her master is not tantamount to mental slavery, then what is it? It is said that a mere smile of the master is more precious for a starving slave than a lunch.

Our out going SL high commissioner in London has earned this smile from her master, at the expense of and treachery to a true son of Sri Lanka Dr. Dayan Jayathilake. By volunteering to "apologize" to the British foreign office (in her words) for the "uncalled" statement of Dr. Dayan Jayatilleke, SL H/C has betrayed not only her fellow countrymen remarkably battling in the international arena for his country, but also humiliated our motherland before the international community, by this pathetic 'volunteered apology' reducing our mother Lanka, the sorrowful rape victim of British colonialism, to the level of a whore!!!

We know that countering separatist propaganda and clearing the image of Sri Lanka among international community is a major part of our current government policy of foreign affairs. But actions like apologizing for a necessary political critique by a fellow countryman, just to appease the fraudulent white master is we thought should have long being abandoned. So who is going to take the responsibility of the country's representative's actions in London? H/C just cannot get away from her actions saying that she voluntarily apologized; because, she is the representative of our country in England. But, million dollar question is why she wanted to attack Dayan Jayathilake at the end of her tenure in London? I smell of a rat here, not just a rat, but a big rat (Uru Meeya) in this whole story.

Perhaps British administration is mockingly enjoying the whole scenario by now, with a gigantic rear end laughter witnessing our SL H/C safeguarding British interests in London at the expense of poor Sri Lankan tax payer's money. Even without wasting a single word to counter the viable argument brought by Dr. Jayathilake Brits got what they want through our High Commissioner. So for all these years we had another Chilcott in SL-High Commission in London ha???

No one can fool the Sri Lankan public and they have a very good assessment of what is happening. They witnessed how Dayan was confidently handling the difficult task of countering the well orchestrated western attack against the sovereignty of Sri Lanka in the international arena. We saw the transformation of our international voice countering these attacks with newly acquired vigor and stylish command of Dr. Dayan and Prof. Rajeeva after they took over the office in Geneva. No doubt western lobbyist also must have found enormous difficulty to get away unnoticed or by pass these un-deceivable, well informed and well versed intellectuals like Dayan and Rajeeva, in their ill- wily pursuits of devious agendas.

When all other Sri Lankan intellectuals were waiting in line to receive invitations for cocktail parties from western embassies in Colombo, and receive positions in NGOs and INGOs to put their free earned academic credentials- (again at the expense of poor Sri Lankan tax payers) in prostitution, Dayan, with all his qualifications which could be used to make him very successful in this money trail of NGO and human rights business, devoted himself wholeheartedly to serve his country at this most catastrophic moment of our history. Unlike the others, those who shine themselves by having positions, Dayan shined the position he was offered by honesty and outstanding performance. We really grateful to him about his service and will never forget that.

There is a big difference in Dayan's approach to foreign affairs and that of some others. Dayan is not a blind follower of western prescribed orthodox formula of foreign relations. Knowing the fact that all these protocol s, etiquettes, behavioral cods, sets of rules, accepted practices and procedures are intended to safe guard the white master's interests, he never follow their rules. He is not a fool to follow the perpetrator's rules to safe guard our sovereignty from the self same culprit who undermine it. The diplomacy of the west can survive with its all duplicity only if we follow these set of rules and only if we play their game under their rules. But unfortunately this also has become another crack that split him from some factions of our foreign service.

No doubt, Dayan must have earned the tag of "enemy of the west" within very short time in office by being truly frank and must have secured a place to be in the top of the western hit list in international politics especially in the backdrop of his growing popularity among other nations. From that perspective, the unfolding events could be a part of a larger conspiracy of destroying Dayan and removing him from international politics, because from the western point of view, Dayan has become a fish bone that itching and irritating in the throat of the neo-colonial West, and the terrifying spectacle is that the bone is growing too.

Our so called independence in 1948 from Britain was actually the most misguiding deception of our history. In reality all what happened was white colonial masters switched over their positions with black bourgeoisie compradors. The deal was clear, continuing the dominance upon the Sinhalese and Tamil speaking indigenous masses.

Now after seventy years of indirect rule through their comprador agents, the white master has struck back through a CFA, NGOs, Human Rights and R2P fronts. This time their physical attack also comes indirect and seditious manner through western sponsored military might of the LTTE. When the west demands death in large numbers, LTTE supply them within short time. Then they ask more to justify R2P.

Therefore, fighting against LTTE terror means fighting against neo colonial agenda of the west. When you analyze Dayan Jayathilake scenario in such context, this London affair proves some thing very important. These compradors, as local elites who had exchanged roles with white colonial dominance in our country by their involvement with neo colonial agendas, once again have proved that they can never take part in the on going independence/liberation struggle in Sri Lanka; because, they do not consider it as a struggle worth to fight. They don't consider it as their own fight; therefore Mr. President may have to select right people for right places. But definitely we don't need anymore apologetic colonial compradors.
