LESSONS FROM BEIJING OLYMPICS TO THE SUB CONTINENTALS

The Beijing Olympics have been considered the best organised Olympics in history. What we saw in the opening ceremony was Chinese culture expressed in terms of the 21st century. All western influence in the 20th century was ignored. Even communism. In short it was an expression of the confidence and organisational capacity of the Chinese. They have proved that what the Europeans can do Asians can do better. It is the new reality of the 21st century. As expressed in the Chinese anthem ' Rise Rise Rise' the athletes have achieved the most amount of Gold Medals in the games. Whats intriguing of course is that they did not have a single foreign coach.

Compare that with India and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka did not get a single medal. India got a Bronze medal. The only way to compare is to look at cricket where we are of world class. That also because only a few countries play the game. In spite of India playing international cricket for almost 70 years and Sri Lanka for 25 years we rely on foreign coaches. Why? If we can produce world class cricketers why not coaches? Another is the Ajantha Mendis saga. The chap is derided because he could not speak English. Did any of the Chinese athletes speak English or any other western language. Another new item is dancing girls at cricket matches. Another western import. A bloody disgrace.

The behaviour of the Indians and Sri Lankans is one of servility to white races. In every sphere of life westernisation and imitatation of the white races is considered the height of civilised behaviour and development. Our own culture and languges are derided. Although it has a lot to offer. The biggest achievement of British colonialism has been to change the mind set of the middle classes to one of servility . It was best expressed by Lord Macauley the commissioner of education of India who said we must endeavour to produce a class of person who is Indian in blood and colour but English in Taste, Opinion, Morals, and intellect.

We after 60 years of so called Independence have still not been able to get rid of the shackles of Macauley. The reason is the schooling system and curricula he started still continue. To prove it further I received a e mail from Sri Lanka condemning china on its human rights record another expression of western propaganda.

There goes Macauley again. China is as imperfect as America, India or Sri Lanka . Could this Sri Lankan not realise that this is the same propaganda the west uses against his own country. This is the new WMD. It is time we learn from the China not deride it . Unless we follow our own culture and philosophies and take the best from the rest of the world the Indians and Sri Lankans will continue to be servile under developed nations .
