Response to Tamils for Justice

Dear Spokesperson for the Tamils for Justice (T4J):

Thanks for some civility in your response to my last post with the Vanakkam Folk Tale. It may have been a difficult exercise to get away from the Sri Skanda Rajesque responses with veils of intimidations. You are certainly getting there to be completely civil and perhaps you will get there at some point to have a decent dialogue without threats of intimidation as I resent them. You should take this as a compliment after the observation from this “Old Fart”. I am also glad that you identified me as an “Old Fart” as obviously you all have difficulty with the stink that I have been making in Canada for the past 25 years on the Tamil separatist issue, and the attorneys who try to defend your indefensible cause of massacres, mayhem and serial killings of innocent civilians for the want of an Eelam.

Here is a little story about the Tamil intimidation directed at me which I resent.

Some time in 1987, one of my letters appeared in the Ottawa Citizen laying Tamil Facts on the Tamil issue proving that the Tamil propagandists are a bunch of liars.

That afternoon a Tamil voice phones my teen daughter who was home for the summer break and threatens her by saying “We will blow your father’s face if he does not stop writing letters to the papers about us Tamils.”
She ran out of the house and phoned her Mum from a shopping Mall. Mum called me and I was frothing. Cowardly bastards, I told myself.

I called one of your leaders Dr. Elagupillai and told him, “Don’t you sons-of-bitches ever threaten my family. If any of you want to meet me, I will meet you anywhere, anytime, just let me know.”

Elugu tells me, “I have told my people not to intimidate Asoka because he goes from strength to strength, and I am sorry Asoka”.

My response was, “You are damn right Elugu, let your bastards know that and ask them not to do that again.” And there you are my friends of the Tamils for Justice. Tamil intimidation with veil threats don’t go well with me at all. It never has and it never will. This is just to let you know.

“What we wrote is the Truth and nothing but the truth”, you said.
The bottom line of this debate seeking the World Opinion to be the Judge and Jury is to lay down arguments to defend – The Tamils for Justice (T4J)Truth vs Weerasinghe Facts. What I have said on this issue is nothing nebulous and I could stand tall on my own two feet as an honest observer and reporter of the issue.

* When I told you lot, that the July 1983 riots should be considered as a “God’s send for the Tamils”, or else hundreds of thousands of them wouldn’t have had a chance in hell to enter any of the western countries as immigrants. That was a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* As you will no doubt agree that 90 percent of the Tamils who came crying onto the shores of Canada were economic refugees who wouldn’t have had a chance in hell to get in as immigrants on the point system.
That was a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* If all who entered Canada as convention refugees were scared of Sri Lanka as their persecutors, they wouldn’t buy the first plane return ticket to Colombo the very day after they got their Canadian passport.
That is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* More than 8,600 Sri Lankans with refugee claims pending in Canada applied for travel documents to visit Sri Lanka in 1992, the country that they ran away from saying that they have been persecuted and scared for their lives in Sri Lanka. How come? That is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* In 1993 the figure was 5,865 applicants still waiting for their refugee claims heard in Canada. That is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* In January 2007 according to World Watch, the Tamil population in Sri Lanka had dwindled to 3.9% of 20 million from the 12.6% in 1981. All the former Tamil citizens of Sri Lanka flew away from their cuckoo’s nest after the 1983 riots fanning the world seeking greener pastures.
That is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* 2007 Sri Lankan statistics say the majority ethnic group populating the capital city of Sri Lanka, Colombo, is the Tamils. These are
supposed to be the persecuted Tamils. Ha! Figure that one out.
WEERASINGEH FACT.

* 85% of prime property in Wellawatte, a prestigious part of Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka is owned by Tamils. They have not been chased away by the majority Sinhalese nor have the property burnt. Ha! Figure that one out. This is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* In comparison not a single square inch of land in Jaffna is owned by the majority Sinhalese as they are not allowed to own by the Tamils.
Discrimination you say! Ha! Figure that one out. This is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* I am labeled by you as a “Sinhala racist” just because I lay out facts to prove that what the Tamils say are half-truths and lies about the majority Sinhalese, but how come by the same token “Tamil racist”
label doesn’t apply to you bunch for supporting a creation of a mono-ethnic, racist, Tamil, separatist state Eelam”, and yet enjoy all the comforts and perks like education and health in the rest of the island? That is a WEERASINGHE FACT.

* You ask “why was it so difficult to SLFP government to apologize and admit the holocaust?” Didn’t it ever occur to you that the SLFP knife cut both ways? Didn’t it ever occur to you that they may be waiting for an apology from the Tamil separatists for an apology for the :

November 30, 1984, killing of 62 unarmed civilians including men and women at Dollar and Kent farms by your Tamil Tigers;

Shooting and killing 120 Buddhist devotees on May 14, 1985 at the Buddhist Sacred City of Anuradhapura by the Tamil Tigers. They were all meditating under the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree;

Shooting dead 122 civilians traveling in a bus at Kithuluthuwa on the Habarana-Trincomalee highway, including women and children on April 17,
1987 by the Tamil Tigers;

Massacring 33 novice Buddhist monks and their mentor Chief Priest Ven.
Hegoda Indrasara at Aranthalawa in Amapara by the Tamil Tigers on June 2, 1987.

And these are a few in the menu of the cowardly, heinous, barbaric acts by your Tamil Tiger terrorists.

With such indictments you have the gall and temerity to expect the SLFP government to apologize to you all who think that you are innocent lily-whites and babes-in-the-woods. Just cut it out my friends.

You have mentioned the name Bandula twice who obviously has got under your skin.
Who is he? If it is Sri Lanka’s Consular General Bandula Jayasekera who is going at Tamil Eelam sympathizer propagandists toe to toe in the Canadian media, I understand your annoyance and frustration.

I don’t know this ‘Bandula’. I haven’t met him nor contacted him. But rest assured that the day I meet him I will shake his hand congratulating him for demolishing the Canadian Eelamist propaganda through the Canadian AV and print media. I suppose this is one more formidable person you all have to tackle in your propaganda war. That is how the cookie crumbles, mate.

What I didn’t hear from you is whether you liked the Vannakkam Folk Tale 15. Although written many decades ago, wasn’t that interesting that it has a relevance to modern history of the Tamils in Sri Lanka?

If it is any interest to you I could send you few more Vannakkam Folk Tales from the collection which I believe are out of print. The Vakarai Folklore Press must also be out of commission.
