Presidential Security A Priority Which Cannot Be Neglected And One Which Could Backfire On The UNFIt is unquestionable that the President of Sri Lanka as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and all law enforcement agencies within Sri Lanka has the paramount right to her security despite attempts by many who falsely believe that her unlikely demise could add strength to their own insecurities, especially the defectors of the PA Regime now wrapped up within the UNF Blanket and plotting the downfall of the President in no uncertain terms. This added to the Constitutional Rights To Security of National Giants such as the former Foreign Minister Mr. Kadirgamar who has always been a prime target of the LTTE has to be preserved without reservation as otherwise the Ruling Party would be guilty of rank neglect in upholding the Sri Lankan Constitution which provides for this security to all dignitaries of high office and could easily backfire on the UNF Government where the will of the people would have been pre-empted and in fact in doing so the Nation's Security would also be compromised. The unilateral rather distasteful rumblings of the present regime regardless of their being the Ruling Party in voicing their authority appears to have failed to recognise the most important tenet of the Constitution relative to preserving Presidential Security and she has had to speak out rather assertively to the people of the land which leaves the UNF is apathetic dissaray when it comes to carrying out their foremost responsibilities and is currently prioritising a Peace Process which seems to be heading nowhere in as far as the arrogant responses of veiled rebuttals from the LTTE indicate, as they seem to be the ones laying down the ground rules for this bullish Peace Initiative being wooed by the double visioned Government all the while using the prolonged ceasefire as a ploy and being in pretentious agreement to requisitions by the Government to denounce their objectives. The Fine Lines in the Constitution read "It Is The President Who Has The Power To Declare War And Peace" and mandates in no uncertain terms the paramount importance for her security which she has had to proclaim to the Nation as a result of the UNF's shameful neglect of its responsibilities towards preserving Presidential Security whether inadvertently or not but more than likely deliberate as the verbosity of the likes of Minister S.B. Dissanayake and others of his mentality have indicated in recent times with their puerile outbursts against the President. As Sri Lankans observe with dismay the continued denigration of the PSD ( Presidential Security Division) both apathetic, vicious and unfounded it is becoming painfully aware that there are anarchists within the rank and file of the ruling party and it's supportives out to demoralise Presidential Security and the Presidency itself created by the Constitution and hence a deliberate act of aggression against the Supreme Law Of The Land. The majority of patriotic Sri Lankans non aligned to any form of aggression and concerned about the rights of a Democratically Elected President have expressed grave concerns about a campaign of aggression by her dissenters in portraying her as someone with murderous intent together with the PSD in proclaiming false allegations against them and the acceptance of the President's credibility nonetheless has been remonstrated with a great show of support by her loyal Sri Lankan Following and cannot be ignored .The President herself has indicated to the Nation of her awareness of the sinister motived individuals and their treacherous campaigns against her. This is a revered leader who has withstood assassination attempts and
carried out her responsibilities towards Sri Lanka with great decorum,
charm and dignity though surrounded by those plotting evil against her
and it has to be reiterated that it is the bounden duty of the present
Administration to preserve her security, integrity and well being through
Constitutional Jurisdiction at least, if not through its own perceptions
as it could alternatively easily backfire on them if this supreme duty
is neglected in protecting her well being through the Security Afforded
to her as her Constitutional Right.
