Anticipated US Investigative Team To Sri Lanka Sounds Ominous For The LTTE !

If as reported in the current edition of the Sunday Times that The United States is sending a top level team to Sri Lanka comprising of agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US State Department who will arrive in Colombo on January 24 this would surely be a precursor to a greater show of solidarity and strength towards the Sri Lankan Administration by the Most Powerful Nation in the world. Something which has never been openly declared previously with the tone of insistence and assertiveness by the USA which should send out a clear message to the LTTE!
Hopefully this would then be cause enough for the sublimely ignorant pundits around the world who give the terrorist LTTE organization even a semblance of tolerance, to rethink their insidious rationale more on the lines that the root cause for the evils in Sri Lanka rests on the doings of the LTTE and the responsibility theirs alone rather than attempting to give them any legitimacy towards negotiation where their evil presence has to be stamped out towards the posterity of Sri Lanka? The negotiational aspect of any arrangement towards incorporating the Tamil Community as part of the Sri Lankan infrastructure should realistically be carved out if necessary by the Administrators of Sri Lanka with the Tamil Community spearheaded by a rational and sane Tamil leader rather than with rabid terrorists such as the LTTE who have never shown any realistic interest towards a peaceful settlement and have forged ahead towards a terrorist controled infractructure which even an imbecile would realise as unaccomplishable with their attitude as they continue on a path toward their self destruction.

When the US Government according to the information conveyed by the Sunday Times portrays the significance of involvement in Sri Lanka's present situation involving the insurgent terrorists of the LTTE the world at large might be better off taking note of its importance and significance of the reality that even the Most Powerful Nation in the world seems to have decided that enough is enough! The US team while being more of a combined investigative team comprising of staff from the Federal Bureau Of Investigation (FBI) and the US State Department will familiarize themselves with the prevailing security situation and activities of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. It may also be indicative of a more powerful response towards greater bearing on the US Government's determination to stamp out global terrorism where the stamping out of the LTTE too might be consequential though academic.

There seems to be an unwavering message being sent out to the LTTE by the USA through this latest move and seems to be a quick response to the terrorists who have grossly oversteped their metes and bounds (if any existed within their reckoning in the first place!) that despite their baseless bravado and confidences while broadcasting around the world that their Elam War IV is forthcoming and their struggle for a homeland seems to be acomplishable (in their spurious imaginings of course!) their aspirations are more than likely to be shortlived.
The LTTE is a banned organization in the US and some other significant countries around the world and the more assertive and perceptive analysts who have always called for a meaningful end to the Sri Lankan insurgent problem may at long last be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel while synonymously the LTTE should now realise that their days might be numbered!

The US team is reported to have embarked on an investigative journey to determine matters relating to Tiger guerrilla links to other terror groups against whom US is now waging a war. It is also likely to focus on money laundering and similar activity by Tiger guerrilla groups in violation of US laws as well as sending a clear signal to them that their transparencies have at long last been spotlighted in their entirety and that they are no exceptions in the eyes of the Most Powerful Nation in the world where all their theatrics and claims of innocence towards all the attrocities they have perpetrated against a Sovereign Nation will not go unnoticed nor unpunished. The LTTE in fact are staring the Most Powerful nation in the face and about time they began changing their attitude towards their objectives as their nemesis common to all terrorist organizations in the world appears to be closing in on them.
Perhaps the USA's show of strength and solidarity is cause for inspiration for other Nations and organizations who have thus far only shown token responses to the evils of the LTTE and their terror related apparatus towards rethinking responses and attitudes. Specifically significant are the recent attitudes of the Administrations of India and Canada whose blatant indifferences to the LTTE and their mendacious means of communicating with freedom loving law abiding citizens through intimidation, terror, murder and mayhem is related to the shamefully self centred political advantages they foresee through affiliations with the Tamil Community within their confines linked to the LTTE which in turn affects their political futures benevolently. Towards this rationale, Norway is no exception either and the attitude of the European Union deplorable also, by way of prevaricating where an all out condemnation and the call towards dismantling all LTTE activites might be in order and even in some small measure contribute toward what the USA has now unequivocally signalled. These top-level US visits take place amid growing concern by the international community for what is left of the cease-fire and a possible flare-up of a misnomered war which in reality amounts to an internal armed terrorist insurrection which the LTTE have arrogantly and obnoxiously maintained, at times surreptiously despite the Peace Process and Ceasefire which they have blatantly violated in so doing.

Somewhat appropriately and bearing succesful results, the recent visit to Washington by Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mangala Samarasinghe has in turn inspired the visit by the US Officials and indicates a direct outcome of the US tour by Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera who held talks in Washington D.C. with senior officials of the Department of Defence and officials dealing with counter terrorism, financial crimes and related matters.

Rather incomprehensibly the visit of Sri Lankan President HE Mahinda Rajapaksa to Superpower neighbour India has not elicited the same response by the Indian Authorities who have hedged on the responsibility of acting as a deterrent to the LTTE attrocities of recent manifestation where it is thought that greater Indian priorities seem to lie in the appeasement of LTTE supportive factions of Tamil Nadu and a sad irresponsibility towards Regional Security if this indeed be the case!

Significantly just last Tuesday the US Ambassador To Sri Lanka Mr. Jeffrey Lunstead in affirmation of US intentions warned the LTTE that if they chose to abandon the search for peace, the Sri Lankan military would emerge “stronger, more determined and capable”.While speaking at a luncheon meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce (Sri Lanka Chapter), he said US military assistance to Sri Lanka would continue and if the LTTE and their supportives read between the lines they should ' logically' conclude if they were able to comprehend the meaning of the term that their insurgent days seem numbered.
