Preaching To The Superpowers
while Carrying An Image Of Hypocrisy.
It has often been said that all's fair in Love and War but never hypocrisy!
If the LTTE has spoken out that theirs is an example worth emulating by
the United States and Great Britain towards their present invasion of
Iraq it is an irony that an entity as infamous as the LTTE has had the
nerve to make such utterances after a near destruction of many aspects
of the Sri Lankan economy, population and infrastructure comprising of
many facets conducive to socio- economic stability, religion and culture
and there can be no analogies drawn that their current urgings towards
negotiations could in any reflect sincerity towards the liberqation of
Iraq albeit the singlemost importance to the region of the removal of
a persistent and cruel dictator being imperative. The LTTE have placed
themselves within a glass house from which they can hardly take liberties. The
situation in Iraq though cause for great international concern has its
realities completely unrelated towards being an internal armed insurrection
as perpetrated by the LTTE in their heyday now waving olive branches towards
thir own survival.
That the emperor in pretence of being clothed in the finest of garments
parading around in the nude as the story goes! did not dispel the reality
of his nudity despite his entreaties that he was clothed seems applicable
to the LTTE whose transparencies do not permit them to play peace maker
to the world before laying down arms and calling off all illegal activities
in violation of the ceasefire which they have not resorted to thus far.The
leniencies shown them by the present Administration have even emboldened
them into infiltrating Sinhalese Populated areas to carry out their prurient
pogroms of elimination of person standing in their way and attacking Chinese
Fishing vessels on the high seas and peace by any other name cannot smell
as sweet as they propound it to be! Matter of fact it is revolting by
their definitive actions yet softened with rhetoric and support from opportunists!.
Conversely the Sri Lankan Government should perhaps take an example from
the USA
and Great Britain on how to go about resolving what appears to be a huge
threat to the smooth functioning of regional affairs in the Middle East
represented in the form of Megalomaniac Saddam Hussein although the modus
operandi is unacceptable to a world majority including Sri Lanka as it
threatens innocent civilian lives but the need to remove the main threat
still an urgent one and a parallel consideration towards the removal of
another megalomaniac, LTTE supremo Pirapaharan and the realities of a
concerted effort to bring to justice the wanted!.
LTTE recommendations to the United Nations to prevail upon the warring
parties to restore normalcy seem rather hollow and ambiguous coming from
an entity which has caused so much destruction within a Sovereign Nation
and continue with their attrocities of gun running, child conscriptions,
kidnappings, attacking of foreign fishing vessels and patricipating in
many violations of the ceasefire which they need to be taken to task for
and their smooth talking on how to acheive peace! mere rhetoric which
they cannot really substantiate.
Somehow, in an almost miraculous manner the Peace has held within Sri
Lanka thus far although the ice yet thin, as disaster could yet be triggered
off very easily if the continued attrocities now rather veiled are not
abandoned by the hierarchy of the rebels unpredictable in nature, reluctant
to disarm as their rhetoric more often than not swings in the manner of
a pendulum though always in their favour as they possess an uncanny ability
of deception and subterfuge which is often aided by sympathisers such
as the Norwegian Monitoring Mission and indirectly by the Sri Lankan Government
which has been misled into believing the web of intrigue spun around them
by the LTTE that peace lies just around the corner.
In outlining the credibilities of the USA and Great Britain led invasion
of Iraq however the LTTE have struck an appropriate chord in citing the
failure to obtain proper endorsement of the United Nations and may soon
find themselves at the receiving end of a United Nations decree towards
denouncing all their attrocities however subtle they may appear to be
and an opportunity to live up to their call to order and to justify their
pontifications directed towards the US and Britain which may entail the
apprehending of a criminally negligent leadership and subordinates and
a giving up of their quasi administration with which they continue to
make a mockery of Sri Lanka's Sovereignity and territorial integrity in
certain parts of the North and North East.
In short! quit the preaching LTTE and do what's really required within
Sri Lanka towards a lasting peace, denounce your objectives and trend
towards secession, lay down arms and integrate into mainstream society
without hypocrisy!
