LTTE Demands That The ISGA Is The Only Means To Peace Needs To Be Contested As Unacceptable!

As predicted by many discerning political analys, the LTTE true to their reputation of being devious and manipulative as an alternative to their terror tactics which have more or less been stifled mainly through the resolve of the Sri Lankan Administration and the many international sources which have acted as deterrrents and the realization of its futility by the former LTTE head honchos, as of late seems to have adopted a stance which they probably realise is a hit or miss effort should the Government be hoodwinked into believing and capitulating to, that the only viable means to re start peace negotiations would be to respond to LTTE exhortations that their previously rejected ISGA Interim Self Governing Authority would be the only norm towards resuming Peace Talks. An idealogy which should never be considered in its present format nor be accepted in any credible sense. There seems hardly an alternative towards contradicting this demand by the LTTE who continue to remain in their terrorist identity where little needs to be said about any considerations given towards any bargaining with an unrelenting terror group who have all but disentitled themselves to their rights by the pursuance of their own policies unacceptable to a freedom loving democratic world!

There was no speculation as recently endorsed by the internationally respected Sri Lankan Foreign Minister the Hon. Lakshman Kadirgamar that giving into the ISGA would be a direct mandate towards a stepping stone for a separate state which is unthinkable relative to the realities of Sri Lanka's Sovereignity and Territorial integrity and once again the LTTE political leadership casting aside all the logistics presented by the Sri Lankan Government that the ISGA is unacceptable appear to have parleyed for the same monotonous theme which they in all probabilities know is going nowhere yet persist in the lame duck theme which will not only delay and curtail the advent of a lasting peace but also further emphasize their disentitlements towards their presentations of acceptability as sole representatives of the Tamil Community within Sri Lanka and are nothing but a minority within a minority with more credible factions of the Tamil Community non aligned with the LTTE needing greater recognition while being pushed into oblivion.

Having re-entered the Peace Process on a recall as negotiators, for lack of alternatives by the Government perhaps on a known / unknown devil affirmation, Norway once again seems to be at the centre of bi partisan LTTE adulation and not surprisingly the Leadership of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna which constitutes an integral part of the UPFA has unequivocally shown opposition to Norway's involvement on the basis of bias and while demanding their removal from the Peace Process has recommended an alternative in the form of superpower neighbour India, a choice which needs accordance and a positive response from India which seems a reasonable option given the past track record of the Pro LTTE Norwegian Peace Monitors who are once again more than likely to hamperSri Lanka's return to a lasting peace rather than facilitate it through their usual meddlesome mentality and the promotion of pro LTTE decision making and food for thought for the UPFA hierarchy headed by President Kumaratunga that the hindsight of the JVP idealogies with respect to Norway would be meritworthy.
It seems unfortunate that despite the mandate of the Sri Lankan voters who responded to the UPFA based on their political platform presentations as the true saviours of Sovereign Sri Lanka which swept them into power, they have been unable thus far to seriously assert ultimate authority and regulate the dictates of the Preace Process as one within their control rather than sway prevaricatingly to various areas of opinion and be somewhat circumspectly influenced by diverse schools of thought, some of which seem to be emanating from the Ranil Wickremasinge/G L Peiris bandwagon which despite their being in a situation of non effectivity continue their attempts to sway public opinion that the UPFA are incapable of resolving Sri Lanka's peace crisis while having squandered their own chances of initiating a lasting peace during their tenure by colluding with the terrorists and being overly conciliatory to them resulting in their political demise.Perhaps an incentive for the UPFA to go all out to disprove UNF aspirations and take overall control of how Peace should return to Sri Lanka under their dictates and not that of the LTTE!

Despite all the huffing and puffing of the LTTE lately there should be no obligations on the part of the Sri Lankan Government to dance to any LTTE tunes under any duress presented to them for fear of any reprisals they sometimes rather blatantly and misguidedly refer to through their propaganda sources and regardless of whatever tone of voice they use in a last ditch attempt to assert their continuity as an organization which is not only terrorist based but also a visible non representation of the entire Tamil Community which they are desperatelty trying to maintain by way of imagery and a falsely projected concept, they must never be permitted to concessions in deference to the norms of a free world and a Sovereign Democracy which is what their ISGA is all about!

The Peace Process consequently is bound to be a slow mover which will undoubtely drag on due to the lack of proper direction and the many disagreements by the parties involved in the many contestations for recognition of rights and their relativities to the Sri Lankan Justice System and Constitution. An all too familiar them of past repute sadly! The complications of the process as it stands today will only be further compounded unless the Status Quo of Sri Lanka makes the proper choices, decisions and control the authority that is an entitlement of the overall ethnic ruling majority and its supportives without being intimidated by the falsely projected legitimacies of the LTTE which even by-pass the reasoning of the minority Tamil Community they assume overall responsibility for.

Consequently all progress towards economic success and posterity in Sri Lanka may depend on the single factor of how the LTTE are dealt with in order to incorporate the rights of all Sri Lankans while enlightening them about the importance of a terrorist free Sri Lanka as demanded by the Free World.The ISGA as presented by them does not meet the requirements of peace in Sovereign Sri Lanka and the needs of its people and bifurcates the definition of peace within a Sovereign Nation where only its division according to the demands of the ISGA would justify Peace and totally unacceptable!
