Norways Duplicity In The Peace Process Exposed At Conference In OSLO.Perhaps when When a delegation of well represented dignitaries formulate a presentation of facts relevant to the impure designs of Norway relative to participation in Sri Lanka's Peace process, the world at large might pause awhile to take heed and acknowledge the realities which may benefit Sri Lanka towards a lasting peace and further promote the call to discontinue Norway from Sri Lanka's Peace Process. The recent conference 'Road Maps To Peace In Sri Lanka' held by the World Alliance For Peace In Sri Lanka (WAPS) in Oslo Norway involving delegates from organizations such as the People's Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam(PLOTE), the Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP),The G L Peiris Foundation, and international representation from countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Germany and Sri Lanka with prominent personalities such as Dr.Peter Chalk of the Rand Organization, Prof Shantha Hennayake from the USA, Dr. Susantha Goonatilake and HLD Mahindapala from Australia, Dr. Asoka Bandarage, and prominent international jounalists Paul Harris and Stewart Bell from Canada . These were some of the gathering who spoke out towards exposing the Partisan
Role being played by Norway In Sri Lanka's Peace Process at times indicative
of bold interference and pro LTTE bias despite the only role assigned
to them being that of facilitator and moderator. The confirmable evidence accorging to Senator Ruvik at this conference rather incriminatingly consisted of wire tapped information of conversations between Jon Westborg former Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka and an LTTE representative by name of Duleep. This tape was played to the delegation revealing a verbal assurance from the Norwegian Ambassador who apparently identified himself while passing on information about 6 tons of electronic communications equipment being sent to the terrorists while also informing them of Norway's willingness to pay for added costs and if this is not Norwegian duplicity towards the real objectives of their participation in the Peace Process one might wonder what exactly it is where the conjectures would then be limitless ? Remarkably the continuation of the tape being played to the delegation has also implicated the name of Bradman Weerakoon of the then UNF Adnministration who was named ar the man in charge of operations to deal with the matter! Something which perhaps the present Administration should scrutinize and investigate further. In 2002 when the hue and cry about powerful V -Sat Satellite equipment
being in the hands of the LTTE was presented to the Nation by the Peoples
Alliance and the JVP once again it was downplayed and shelved by the Wickremasinghe
Administration as an unimportant anomaly but the clandestine activities
did eventually result in the LTTE coming into possession of the equipment
in question with Norwegian Ambassadorial collaboration. Relevant documentation
has been bypassed from official diplomatic direction which would have
probably exposed a furtive and illegal nature and was sent directly to
the Ambassador himself whose conflicts of interest seemed clearly visible.
Together with his collaboration with LTTE's SP Thamilselvam whose hand
has also been exposed having signed a request to bypass official diplomatic
sources in order to send documentation involving the transaction directly
to the Ambassador these startling revelations further exposed at this
conference through the testimony of Senator Ruvik seem to implicate Norway
in skullduggery beyond reasonable doubt. Wire tapped tape messages have
revealed that a certain Norwegian General has also given sensitive information
to the LTTE rebel leaders. The General advises Prabhakaran to 'protect himself ' At the end of the conversation, Prabhakaran requests the Norwegian to please be involved continuously in this situation and he is thereby assured. Col. Karuna is also mentioned during the conversation. " end quote which once again though indicative of Norway's pro LTTE stance in the conversation, its appropriate application, location and cross reference unclear. It has become somewhat clinically obvious after Senator Falk Ruvik's exposure of these wiretaps that there can hardly be any doubt of the illegal Norwegian support of the LTTE Tamil rebel outfit which Norway needs to be officially confronted about as it also violates international law by strict definition of implication. It's a tragedy that Norway was giving legitimacy as a negotiation partner to a ruthless militant organization. It has also been revealed that Norwegian ex-Special Forces have been used to train Sea Tigers to attack Sri Lanka, something which if proven beyond reasonable doubt constitutes a treasonous and illegal act against a Democratic Sovereign Nation and a travesty of justice if Norway after all these revelations is given further confidences and a mandate to continue in Sri Lankan matters pertaining to peace! One might consider also their bleak track record in the Middle East towards this evaluation!
